          Jam!

I made a page to page quick comparison of the 1A book and the only difference is there are additional sheets of info at the last of
The whole book! Why the publisher did not highlight and inform buyers and give us option to only purchase add ons. But I guess lucky for us as I realised that ds 1 books are in poor condition with loads of scribblep inside. Will keep my eyes big next time before I rush to buy. But my elder son use that before. He said very useful with english translation. His last year teacher gave them something similar to supplement class materials. . But I never see him use. Lol.

          Hello jedamum!
http://myhindiforum.com/images/smilies/goodmorning.gif\"> & thanks for the sharing. I'll have a look at the conditions of the hand-me-downs to decide whether to buy or just photocopy the last few pages then. Still waiting for my dd1's booklist before going to buy their books together.

Today is her last school day. It's awards presentation & I just came home from it. Tomorrow is ptm. We still haven't gotten any notice on option for HMT or the subjects combi they are offered for next year yet. Wonder if the teachers will only inform/hand the forms to us tomorrow...

          u are welcome!
u went for awards presentation? congrats! πŸ˜„
but weird to have PTM after Awards presentation leh.... :?

Today is dd's last day of school too. Awards presentation this morning, followed by PTM tmr. Till now, there is no booklist, nor any option forms for HCL or subject combi. According to dd, teachers have not mentioned anything, other than the Science teacher telling them that some might be chosen for E2K next year.

It seems really late compared with other schools, most of whose students have already opted for/out of HMT. I would have thought we need to submit our options to the school before the end of the school year :scratchhead: .

maybe sch expect all students qualify for HMT to opt in.
actually from what u mentioned, it appears that option of HMT will not affect class allocation, hence the sch may decide to leave it to PTM so that parents can better engage the teachers to clarify their doubts before selection.
                  good what.. πŸ™‚

To be honest, I would have preferred to have the PTM earlier (like last week), get teacher's feedback, and have a bit of time to mull over my options. I hope I won't have to give the teachers my options right on the spot during PTM. I really would like dd to take HCL, but concerned if she can cope as chinese is her weakest subject. Dilemma...

Thank you all for welcoming me πŸ™‚ feels like I'm part of the family already!

Wells, I'm 19 so I suppose it's a 9 year gap between my cousins and I! Feels like a long long time ago when I think back to my PSLE year! XD

Just some background info.. Started tutoring my cousins after their CA2. Both of them failed everything ! Quite shocking ~ their parents do not have the time to coach them, so I decided to help. One of them , a boy was so weak in math & science that I'd to teach him P3 concepts all over again. This means all the model drawing and earlier topics for science. The good thing was he's willing to learn hence he got 80+ for all subs & was so promoted from last to first class next year ! πŸ˜„ so proud of him! My concern is.. How do I stretch him further? How to help him cope?

My other cousin, a girl, still failed all her subjects despite my help. To be honest, there's only so much I can do to help her 😞 she's pretty smart but complacent & reluctant to put in effort. I'm hoping that parents here would be able to advise me on how to help her! Although she failed everything , it doesn't seem to be affecting her! :slapshead:

Haha, thanks for reading my rants. I'm still new to this tutoring thing so I would appreciate any help πŸ™‚
