how's the orientation? expectation from sch?

as second time parent, we are ganchiong no more! lol.
we promptly filled in the forms and rushed to
- husband - school bus queue
- ds1 - name tag queue
- me & ds2 - uniform (actually they also accept orders for name tag...lol)

after we queue shortly for the uniform, the queues became very very long. we had wanted to order books online, so didn't queue for the books as buying uniform is more important.

when we went back later (2 hrs later) to exchange uniform (size too small), no queue at bookstore (15min before closing time!). so i bought the books too.

there was no briefing on academic expectations as there will be another PTM when sch starts next year.

last night ds2 shared with me what they done in class. there was no testing. nothing on math or chinese. they only done a short reading and some drawing and colouring. ds2 said he answered a lot of questions as no one raised their hands to answer questions. a good start for him! he was not shy to borrow colour pencils for the activity too (i packed for him but he did not search his bag carefully ). he said he whispered to the boys sitting beside and infront of him, so teacher did not notice.

but he said the toilet was horrible. :sick:

i envy you all.

it seems it's only us who haven't done graduation and orientation yet.
my DD's graduation party is tomorrow. they are just having a small presentation at school. only 6 students graduating this year
then P1 orientation is on Saturday.

what type of sch shoes is recommend? shoes laces or velco type? does the shoes need to brush with white coating after wash? still ve this kind of shoes bo?

my son is having his orientation tomorrow!!! so excited but at the same time quite worried…

Some schools insist shoe lace shoes. Mine use velcro.
Nowadays the white shoe polish have those type squeeze and polish one. Not dip and paint type.

DS2 will have his graduation concert on 30 Nov. Which i think it's pretty late. but better late than never.
