No, dust cloth is a special cloth. Normal cloth will typically leave ‘hair’ or fibres on the window panes/mirror surface, but dust cloth does not. You can get really good and value for money ones from Scott (the brand). Available at most supermarket (the section for detergents/brushes/mops/sponges etc, sometimes the car care section also have) and DIY shops like homefix.Imami:

I clean the windows myself. I just use glass cleaner spray (diluted) and a dust cloth. A cleaner aunty taught me. Very easy, fast and cheap! Newspaper can also achieve the same result as dust cloth but your hands will end up badly stained by the ink.
Erm, is dust cloth like the orange colored type, or any cloth will do?
I remember that they are sold a couple of dollars like $4-$6 but don’t remember the price. One piece goes a long long way (believe me, since I dont remember know the price hee!). Mine had been in use since 3 years ago. Gives you great mileage in view that it’s just a few dollars.
They come in different colours. I remembered there were blue ones, orange ones… mine is green. -

Be very careful about the term “micro fibre” if you are looking for dust cloth. The Scott’s ones are specifically stated as dust cloth on the packaging.
As for micro fibre, seems like there are different grades/materials/function? I thought micro fibre cloths were the ones I needed initially and I bought a pack of blue and red. Couldn’t remember the brand though but the term ‘micro fibre’ was on the packaging. I thought that’s would be the same as dust cloth. The red one went on a test drive on my mirror. Wah piang…. My mirror became Elmo’s cousin! :faint: -

Micro-fibre cloth comes in differing quality from my experience. I bought one set from the neighbourhood market and was given another set free! It absorbed a lotta water for the rack below the dish rack, so it was a breeze cleaning that. No more stagnant water nor slime. Used it on the windows too! Superb! No dust. No elmo. In my case.. no cousin of oscar the grouch, as i used a green cloth then. Same like you Imami, i used that cloth with diluted glass cleaner. Easy does it. My first scrub was with the newspaper and second with the cloth. Our windows shone with the following day's sunrise. :please: It was good for the dining table as well. Now all used up and don't see them sold at the market anymore. I bought from those moving push cart sellers.
I paid only $10. For buy one get one free... it was *GOOD!

Hello all…after more than 10 years n 8 maids…i have decided not to have a helper anymore…i am tired but i hv a piece of mind!..hv been maidless for nearly a month now
my kids r 13,12 n 8…my father is staying with me too…
i woke up at 4.30-5 am to cook lunch for my family…
household chores r share among us
lucky for me…my husband is the type that can do marketing n help in household matters…
to make my cooking a ‘faster affair’…as i need to leave house by 6.45 am…
i bought
-iona roaster(like air fryer)
-pressure cooker
-thermal pot
others
-stick vacuum
i need to replace my blender etc too
i am thinking of getting a dryer?
i have 1 mth more to get my timings right before the school reopens…
reading the stories here somehow ‘motivates’ me and ‘get some ideas’ to shorten the time of doing housework\cooking… -
Hi linayh, you can also try getting a robot cleaner to clean your floors. That will free u more time to do other chores.
