I showed her how to do it or I showed her the action. The only English word she knows well is \"dangerous\", rest of the words, feel she is selectively knowing/not knowing. Speak very slowlyand if I am using (what I think is) more difficult words, I use the dictionary and let her see the Myanmese explanation.

Think it is a matter of heng suay as to whether they are willing to learn. Mine is a lazy one with bad temper and attitude. Cut corner by not drying bathroom floor properly resulting in DH having a very nasty fall. 3 weeks and still not recovered. I have negative tolerance for failure to maintain safety standards - doors must be properly catched, pot handles must be turned in, floor must be dry, ....
How is your hubby? Oh dear, he must be feeling lousy. Hope he recovers soon. Have you sent maid off? She is not worth keeping bcos she doesn't believe in safety.

He is better, thank you. Half his foot was swollen, bruises and a nasty gash. I took photos as evidence. If I am in Hong Kong, I will buy a ticket and send her home. Unfortunately, she has an outstanding loan so now idling at agent (at my cost) as no one wants her as well. Will see how to move forward once the 1 month notice period is up.

I once had a maid who started showing symptoms of mental instability after 2 days. Agent was very decent, took her back and send her back despite the loan as they also agree that she does not seem fit to transfer.

Oh dear, your poor hubby must be suffering the pain and inconvenience. He must be fuming mad.
Sending maids back to agency and idling is so shiok for them...still get food and lodging FOC. Now it's 1 month? It used to be 2 weeks...$12 a day.

He has a very quick temper, the fact that he did not blow up then means it was too painful. Think he would have strangled the maid if it is the kids who fell.

No choice, hopefully we can do without them soon.

            Thank you for concern.

Yes, I believe any man would do that if their kids get hurt.

I feel for your poor hubby. It must be so painful. I told my maids (last time) many many times that safety is very important.
