Hi , I just saw this post and would appreciate it if anyone can clarify this: does it mean that if you choose CLEP programme, on top of the 2 bonus points for HCI and CCA, there is another 2 bonus points for the CLEP programme? ie if L1R5 is 9 then9 -6 = 3 points ( thought max deduction is 4 points? ) thanks!

Total number of 'A' Level graduates from Singapore is definitely less than 36,858

Something wrong with stats- based on moe’s website only 14,000 plus students take a levels. Anyone has any info , what percentage of a level students get into our local u? Thanks

But 38000 is more than double one batch?? Perhaps it’s because many apply for more than one uni and one course, so lots of double counting. What many poly students are there ? Just looking physical pax , percentage that gain entry from each cohort more like 70% ??

I suggest that parents check with their child's school or MOE website on all the L1R5 computation. Some postings here are not correct.

Please refer to this link for the Joint Admissions Exercise 2013 information booklet, which will be issued to students seeking admission to Junior Colleges, Millennia Institute, Polytechnics and Institute of Technical Education in 2013.

                    http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/jae/files/jae-info.pdf

                    1) Please refer to page 4, table 1 on the \"Computation of Bonus Points Available\".

                    2) Please refer to page 25, table 6 on the \"Aggregate Types Computation Criteria\".

As seen on page 27 >> Grades for both Higher Mother Tongue Language (viz. Higher Chinese, Higher Malay and Higher Tamil) and Mother Tongue Language (viz. Chinese, Malay and Tamil) cannot be used in the same aggregate computation.

                    Cheers.

                      L1: EL or HCL

R5: Compulsory one math/science AND one humanities subject, the other 3 can be science/math/humans/chinese etc

However if you use HCL as your L1 you do not get to -2 from your L1R5. If you use HCL as your L1 you also CANNOT use Chinese in your R5.
