All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

Oh juz cast the net bigger in order secure more chance.Lucky both sch the PV period is nt the same.Looking at nw PV seem getting more & more competitve.

How do you manage your time?! Volunteering at one PVG was enough to floor both DH and myself! for us, the good thing is that it was 40 hours for 3 :love:

thanks all for your advices. have to be focus. most likely have to do PV for the two schools that we shortlisted so to ensure our child will get into at least one of them. very KS, lor

er, a bit ks, but I find personally that doing pv helps in gaining more knowledge about the school. Perhaps after a while, you may realise that one of them is a place you won't want your child to go into. More that you and hubby will have to load with the additional work lah. Good luck!

Ha.ha just used up whatever leave that I had loh in order to do PV with 2 schools. Anyway thinking of doing PV with CHIJ (Kellock) for my DD. :roll:

Manage time…well, everyone has 24hours so just need to prioritize. Anyway, it is just short term and not like we have to slog for 10-20 years ?


KS ? Ya…maybe lor but I am a poor risk taker and figured it was the best thing to do. I agree with hquek - my motivation was to gain more knowledge about the school to help in my final decision making. I also started off with the notion that I will drop out of PV-ing for one of them if I realise the school is not one for my child. I already did over 30hours before I finally got enough information about one of the schools. I decided to just bit the bullet and get two 2B letters as I can’t be sure of the phase 2B situation during registration (eg. balloting required).

Now back to the drawing board again.

yep, better PV for two schools that we have in mind. being ks parents, that’s the way to go. it’s all for the sake of our children.

good to learn more about the school through PV, and then see the outcome of it.

Hi Funz, you are not alone. Me too got rejected from Henry Park and Nanyang. Too bad… guess it will have to base on luck liao…
