MOE to stop publishing names of top students?
Primary schools keep mum over precise scores
Twenty minutes before results were released, a 12-year-old boy called \"Azryn\" tweeted that his tutor had revealed that this year's highest PSLE score was 285.
A few hours later, online forum KiasuParents.com stated the same score. A thread had been set up for parents to share information on the top score in their child's school. The thirst for information caused the site to crash several times throughout the day.
But no-one was any the wiser. As one Nanyang pupil said, when asked if he knew who came up tops: \"Minister says cannot say.\"
'Minister says cannot say'
:rotflmao:
See? We already managed to dumb down our kids in less than 24 hours. Minister got say \"cannot say\" meh? :stupid:

another forum said that the top scorer is not SG kid. The government doesn’t want to make matter worst after Chipmunk and Gay cases.

:scratchhead:  A-ha! I've figured it out! The real reason behind not disclosing top scorers is that they are non-locals!
And what could that be? I am very curious now...pirate:
Somebody else mentioned that this is but a sacrificial lamb for other things possibly lined up. Sacrificial lambs are the tools of the lily-livered. And the lily-livered do not produce champions.
:siam:
(just being tongue-in-cheek) -
It’s confirmed that the top scorer is a local Chinese boy from NYPS GEP. See, if MOE would just release the details, there wouldn’t be all this speculation about the top scorer being a foreigner etc.

think there are 3 top scorers? could be one of them is not SG kid

:rotflmao: Thanks, jtoh. Actually, it doesn't really matter to me. I only say for laughs.
Parents need to build on their own maturity and wisdom in handling their own emotions and help their children in a positive way.
Just want to add that I find the switch to focus on efforts and ability to strive against all odds in the papers very encouraging. The move is a right one. -

I personally find it very amazing looking at some of the scores & grades. The grades could be so close yet the t-score so far apart…

Only 1 top scorer. Rest are happy red herrings tossed in by people bec there's no official information to dispute.
