在今年小六会考中，考获最高285分的是来自南洋小学的谢丰宇。虽然学校出状元，但校方在宣布成绩时，并没有刻意突出这名学生，而是邀请学校40多名考获270分以上的学生一起接受全校师生的祝贺，同时表扬品行优异的学生。学生们是回到各自的课室领到成绩单后，才探知学校出了状元。谢丰宇是高才教育计划的学生。他参加学校的高级数学俱乐部，曾代表学校参加数学奥林匹克竞赛。据同学透露，他在各科的表现优异，双语能力强，在班上经常踊跃发问，也是一个友善尽责的班长
