My Son's PSLE T-Score is 219. We are currently staying at Tiong Bahru. I am not sure which secondary school should i enroll him into. I prefer Gan Eng Seng Secondary School since its rather convenient. However, its minimum req. marks for entry was 224 last year. Does he still have a shot at being enrolled into Gan Eng Seng Sec Sch? These are the schools I am currently deciding on. Queensway Sec Sch, Geylang Methodist Sch, Queenstown Sec Sch, Assumption English Sch, Tanglin Secondary Sch. I hope to find a school that has good facilities, good staff members and an conducive environment for my child. Thanks πŸ™‚

        5) Assumption English School
        6) Tanglin Secondary School

The choices should be ok but it might be kinda hard to get into gan eng seng. U can always put it as 1st choice though if u & your son really want the school and there's no harm trying. Plus, if your son doesn't get posted to gan eng seng, it will be easier to appeal (if u want to).
Even if he doesn't get into gan eng seng, there's still a very high chance that he will be able to get into queensway because the COP for sec 1 in 2011 was 212. With a score of 219, your son will most likely be able to get in πŸ™‚
The choices are very safe and he will definitely get into one of his six choices. If u are fine with all these schools, go for it πŸ™‚ however, u may want to consider the various programs / ccas etc offered by the schools before u make your decision.
I hope I was of some help and GOOD LUCK πŸ™‚ hope u can get into gan eng seng πŸ™‚

Thanks. Your advice has been of great help. However, which of these schools, Geylang Methodist Sec Sch and Queensway Sec Sch, has more focus on language mastery such as English? Thanks again. πŸ™‚
