      Hi mummies,

would likle to hear your feedback if any ones of you still coaching your kid math (for P5) ? ๐Ÿ™‚
I asked him to attend tuition for Sci.He refused to go.I gave him two option.
      1)study by himself
      2)go to tuition
He said choose the first one. When I asked him to read the topic he expected me to read for him. Then I asked qn,he don't know the answer and told me I never read, that's why he doesn't know. :stupid: :stupid:
When we studying his mind always think about TV/computer/iphone.I wonder if it continued like this how he would manage P5 load.

hello all, i was just wondering if your DC immediately says \" i don't know \" when given a question to do? sometimes my cousins make me so :frustrated: because they want to be given the answer without thinking!! :slapshead: :?:

Is the norm now? I don't remember myself doing that ๐Ÿ˜†

yup,my son always lazy to try the new sums.

Depends on the type of questions, if it is basic concept type, my kid will do, but if it is those challenging type, I actually let her look at the answers (not solution) and ask her to try it out. If she still does not get it, i will coach her myself and study the solution together. At the same time I can also assess if that question is suitable for her level..certain questions are too chim for her, I will tell her it is okay to let it go NOW..(prob her concept not strong, or her first attempt at seeing those types of questions) but she has to be mentally ready to expect those questions on and off during the exam..the least she could do is not not panic and try her best to salvage 0.5 or 1-2 marks for showing working or writing down key points.

My concern now is how to let her know the importance of P5..been telling her P5 is a crucial year for PSLE exam..she has to start getting mentally ready..P6 is a short year..no time to loose. She will be the first kid to do PSLE in our family..and I cant help getting worried..she still seems carefree and relax..perhaps due to holiday...

I feel that for challenging questions, you need to expose him regularly before exam revision...,mine was exposed to some challenging questions during her tuition but she did not revise them regularly. I know she is not strong in Maths so I do not really push her too hard on those challenging questions. It will be a bonus if she can do.

And the usu exam paper format will put the challenging papers as the last 1-2 questions..by the time she completed Section A and Section B and first 2 problem sums..she is like mentally blocked liao..cannot focus on the last few questions. I always tells her to take a quick glance of the problem sum first..if she knows how to do them, do them first when her mind is fresher.

Perhaps u try to get him to work on 1 challenging question a day for a start?
