Hello Buds,
Silly me was waiting for your reply but kept refreshing the same old page without realising you had responded in the next page. So silly...
Anywayz, mine are 31 mths & 16mths. Short attention span because i did not train him, sigh. Most times the big one pours out the toys from the container, leaving a mess on the floor, BUT he does clear up most times after play without me telling him. Guess he has my traits. I hv only 2 & feeling rather time tight. How do your manage 3 / 4 without helper & still can teach??! Best.
Ooh let me go back to the topic.. Hehe... Thank you for all your sharings Buds, it does give me an idea how I should go about guiding my boys :thankyou:
I go zzzzzz now..

That's why in Montessori, we use shelves and we have designated materials for designated areas. Practical Life, Sensorial, Cultural, Language, Math. Each area's materials are further color-coded according to either their material-variant-intent or their difficulty level, as Montessori materials are arranged from easy to difficult. Children work at a comfortable pace and move on to challenge themselves by working on a material of higher difficulty, each time they successfully complete the intended tasks. The more the repetition, the more refined their senses.. the more concrete their concepts.. and the more they boost their confidence. Montessorian children find satisfaction in personal achievements. Most times the big one pours out the toys from the container, leaving a mess on the floor, BUT he does clear up most times after play without me telling him.

Lazy trait issit?Guess he has my traits. I hv only 2 & feeling rather time tight. How do your manage 3 / 4 without helper & still can teach??! Best.
My elder two were girls and are polar opposites. Now i have more hyper 2 boys who hardly sleep, lagi challenged. :frustrated: That's why i am pleased with every or any small achievements from them. How i manage? I just try my best la. Then hope and
that my best is good enough. So far, i get nods of approval from my three supervisors.. hubs, DD1 and DD2. They said he doesn't need to go playgroup.
So he'll be stuck with me for awhile lor.
ocearth:
You are most welcome. :celebrate: Yes, hope to hear some success stories from you. Beginning with re-arranging how your toys are kept. Display them on proper shelves. And not too many at one time.. Mebbe i can share abt what materials to put up next time if you want.Ooh let me go back to the topic.. Hehe... Thank you for all your sharings Buds, it does give me an idea how I should go about guiding my boys :thankyou:

I think the other factor why i probably managed so far was also because i am the sort who can survive on very little sleep.I go zzzzzz now..

Finally have a little time..both boys r coughing away and hopfully fever dun come.. Shoo shoo shoooo
You mean both your 7mth & 23 mth old stays wif you at home? I can't exactly compare coz mine are all boys, but girls seems to be easier huh? Boys are a handful. Mine sleeps little too but full of energy. And thr young one hasn't learn to sleep thru the nite yet....
i haven't had more than 2hrs of rest in a stretch for 2yrs+.
he would soon.
Wait til my home renovation completes, i will ask you for more info on the arrangement, but no obligation ok? I am sure you are busy enough wif your 4 kids and husband and housework and cooking and God knows...
Haven't got much time to continue reading up on Montessori recently..
I am also looking for kindergarten for the elder one, would you happen to know any decent Monterssori in the east? I only been to 2 so far. Josiah (v ex!) & Monte Kidz World, heard of the latter? -
Finally got to watch Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2 with the family on cable.
It had been a fulfilling Saturday. :please: Now that everyone's asleep, here I am.
Yes, I have all 4 with me during school hols. I have both boys with me during schooldays (am) till the girls return home from school. Hubs not planning to send him for any playgroup. Hubs and the girls say he already knows so much, maybe more than children who attend playgroup. This is because we have other nieces and nephews who all attend playgroup. Some can't speak at all and a few who can aren't coherent. Furthermore despite them attending playgroup, they are still unable to share toys, unable to mingle confidently with others, still leave toys lying around, misbehave, cannot adhere to instructions.. (etc) Hubs and the girls are more than happy with his development thus far, of course boosting my motivation to work with him more fun stuff. :please: That's why I said I suppose he'd be with me for awhile.
The girls attended kindy later too.
My boys can sometimes sleep thru the nite unless if they're thirsty or need the occasional comfort suckle cause I'm still breastfeeding them both. They are also trained for alternative feeding using the bottle. This way hubs says can ease me of feeding sessions if I was taken ill and plus anyone can handle the babies at any time.
I would LOVE to share arrangement details with you if you're interested. In fact, maybe I can dedicate one post specially on that, for you. Are you a stay-home-mom or a working mom by the way?
I am busy juggling my best to be mom.. wife.. friend.. kitten (etc) :rotflmao: .....
..... all the different hats yah? But I am still my own person and this person loves anything to do with fun learning for kids and parents alike. In fact, I'm trying to find time to compile my thoughts and sharings in a blog. Especially since next year is a busy year for me. Eldest will be doing PSLE. Second daughter streaming year. Chubs.. I'm starting him on a more fixed work time. So I also need to prepare his work schedule. I hope to be able to reflect on my thoughts and teaching methods and recycle my efforts on top of detailing the resources that I use with them with/for my other children, so I won't have to start from scratch all over again. Blogging would hopefully retain the wonderful memories of their learning journey with me. -
Waah... Buds, you watched Harry together with all your four kids??
My son seems to like Hi-5 alot thou. Likes songs & dance but don't all kids like? He started forming sentences when he was about 18months and he just keep going on n on until he meets some strangers..then it's either a cheeky smile or complete silent.. Maybe he smoles to pretty ladies oni.. Mmmmm sounds like his papa.. Otherwise he just keeps on going.... What is this, that, and sometimes why...... Why...... It's enjoyable answering him when you have time..... But when not... Well...........
Oh i am a SAHM.. just like you
my husband is stationed in Miri, only back on weekends after i had the 2nd one. Used to be once a mth.
Thinking i shld start a more structure time esp for the elder 1 after the renovation completes, majiam brand new start. So reckon i shld start planning the Montessori area in the meantime. Do i need to hv e 5 senses of areas set up or few at a time?
Btw you do have alot of milk supply huh to tandem nurse both
mine depreciates a lit with the 2nd one... Had a lot for the elder boy thou. Wanted to do tat too but the elder one just weaned himself after my 3days hospital stay wih the 2nd boy arrival. ..... When i want to BF him he giggled! Duh.......
