        Hi there,

I just discovered this forum…how wonderful. My daughter will be starting P1 Lily next year and I’m an ex IJ girl. We’re both really excited! Anyone else joining P1 Lily or P1?

        Cheers

Went to bookshop yesterday to collect the textbooks and met an impossible parent…after the bookshop young lady handed her the boxes and told her to go to sides (2 tables outsides the bookshop) to check…she seemed unhappy and asked the bookshop lady whether did they check when they pack they books? the bookshop lady said they did, and the mother asked then why shd she be checking again, shouldn;t the bookshop ensure that the books are in order before handing over to parents? I couldn;t help rolling my eyes at her…and shortly later she returned and asked what about some writing n her invoice and the young lady explained that the planner was not ready but kids can collect them from the bookshop when sch reopens…and the mother repeated her earlier ranting again, why should she spending time checking, it shd be bookshop’s responsibility blah blah blah…and she had to check for 2 boxes blah blah…hiaz…feel like telling her if she find it bothersome to check then she could have paid and opted delivery service…and she can do the check at the comfort of her own place and time…

In the end, another senior bookshop lady had to come and assisted her in checking…

Feel like telling that parent, shouldn;t it be your responsibility to check your merchandise? Why ranting at the poor bookshop girl?

              Hi bebe,

              There ARE impossible parents :slapshead:

I'm quite surprised the book list doesn't include science workbooks...went to popular to get stationery and saw workbooks sold there...maybe IJ is using own materials.

Haha plenty of that "typical" attitude parents…

Anyway thanks hshome for informing… and yes we were not informed!

by the way any idea when should we make the payment to the school for the curriculum fees as stated in the handbook? So at least can prepare to bring the cash on the first day…

                Thanks!

no worries, most of the money to be paid for curriculum is deductable via edusave if child is a singaporean. my daughter hardly brought more than $10 to pay for any fee since P1.

Having a principal who has EQ is very different...trust me 😉
