dont think need to bring any books for 27th dec.
as for first day of school, is there a slip of paper in your orientation pack that says what books to bring? we had one previously.

@Ah Juan, I was shocked to hear that the school bus can only send your DS back home by 8pm. It is very late for a primary school kid indeed. I wonder if it is of any help but I read somewhere in the forum, there are parents who engage cabbie driver to send their kids to school. You may want to consider that as your last option to solve your problem. However, I believe the charges will be much higher than taking via school bus.

Thanks for you info, the price will be secondary to the timing my son reaches home, I'm very upset that the transporter vendor can pass remark like, if you can't accept then why not change a school for your son ??? the vendor say they have existing students hence with my additional drop off point, they never attempt to review their routing, and it can only be the last drop off point. My point is, if every year there are new students, they will always be the last to drop off ?? to make things worst they want to charge me $230 and when I proposed to do my own fetching after school, the vendor says can only reduce $20 which I find extremely absurd, my car is not running and water and true it is a standard for all school bus vendor there is no 1 way charges, but look, other people are paying $80 - $100+, half of the amount may not be very significant, but I am paying $230, does she know how much is half the amount ??

I called the school general line, and they just wanted to get rid of me throughout the phone call, by saying that they can't help me to negotiate with the vendor, only until I called the second time then they asked me to write to their generic e-mail, but to my dismay, the school took a long time to revert and in the end, they came back with info which I already know, the reply was still to ask me to talk to the vendor again.

I'm stuck in a delima now, held hostage by this bus vendor the school is engaging, and considering whether to change school, so CMUM, if you happen to know the link or where to contact this cabbie drivers, can let me know ? I also plead to others out there, if you happen to know any KCPPS staying YCK/SK/Hougang area and parents driving or have other means to go to school, please please let me know.

don't get too offended by the bus operator too. from my understanding, the buses are pretty full coz alot of students that are staying in bishan now have to take school bus to amk holding site. so with this change, there will be tougher routes to handle.

i stay in serangoon and my monthly fares are about $180~~... not very cheap. if i don't take return trip, the 1way bus fare is only $10 cheaper. not v much cheaper...and my kid reaches home about 730-745pm depending on traffic conditions too. she gets so tired from the day that she dozes on the way home too. on days i can pick her up, we can get home by 715pm earliest.

my girl's whiteboard very dirty now after a year's usage but cleaned with wet wipes and some alcohol so looks better. be prepared to change markers. i changed like 5-6markers already...my child flattened the tips easily...

during the orientation briefing for parents, the principal did mention that there will be a list of books for the kids to bring on day 1 and 2... so as to ease their loads. hopefully the teacher will give it on the 27 dec.

for 27dec, the only things needed are stationery and snacks and go to school in school uniform.

my girl's whiteboard also gets dirty easily! i ended up buying her a new one after 8 months. no matter how i wash or clean, the stains are still there! oh yes, the markers, i've changed close to 10 too.

If fellow parents can share how to maintain the cleanliness of the whiteboard, i'll be keen to try!
