I agree with this rationale.This is different from the YSL case where it started as a rumour.. Thus probably warranted a different course of action by teh person involved.
I suspect MP could have reacted differently if hard evidents were Not present from the start.
In this aspect, owning up is the natural and only viable course of action.. thus.. I do not give them any credit for it.
I feel that all the evidence are against him and owning up is probably the best course of action. 纸是包不住火。I feel that as compared to YSL, he has alot more to lose. If he don't be a MP, at most go back to be a lawyer. He is afterall a 有头有脸 person. People will forgot about this EMA after awhile. It's very different from YSL who is just a businessman and can fold up his business and move somewhere. -

You are right, the word 自爱 has to use on both sexes.
Another chinese words ' 自zuo duo qing' which describes the women too.
