I do not even want to comment on how some think lust has got nothing to do with politics, and how some people even bring out examples of famous politicians and their private affairs. The fact is that SINGAPORE was never like the other countries, and I love this aspect of our politics. CLEAN. And I wish it continues to be so. I do not want to compromise in OUR standards just because it has become a COMMON thing, or because every other country is doing it.

I beg to differ on the above. All the scandals and sagas had proven that Singapore is no different from other countries. We like to think we are CLEAN cause we are so used to being blinded. With the power of internet and alternative media, more will come.

Human weakness is human weakness, does not mean Singaporeans are a different breed or are immune from it.

Gooby, it doesn't prove that Singapore is no different from other country. It just proves that some men are stupid. And I don't want stupid people in our parliament.

And I don't want stupid people in our parliament.[/quote]Like you, I used to feel proud that our SG politics is one of the cleanest in the world with minimum scandal. After GE11 and reading much from the alternative media, I realised I had been a fool and living in the well.

Many wise, successful, highly regarded people look good on the outside. But once their private lifes are out in the open, your jaws drop, your beliefs crashed, your heart sank.

Are our politicians, chiefs, pastors, monks, teachers, principals etc etc, stupid people? No, they are not stupid. They err and succumb to human weaknesses.

All of us have our fair share of varying dark secrets and we err here and there.

A seemingly good person seems trustworthy might just be that his dark secrets are not exposed. As long his dark secrets or private affairs are not exposed, he is regarded with high moral standard. It has been proven again and again.

It is extremely difficult to know a person inside out unless you trail him daily. How to ensure that the politician we elected has high moral standard? Does a person who seems to have high moral standard posses the cut for politics? How to ensure this person never errs in his whole life? Or is it the real fact that his/ her dark secrets has yet to be exposed?

        How do you define stupidity?

in Taiwan, the 3rd party in an EMA can be sued and fined for causing 'family break-up'and this apply to both male and female. here we are seeing some

folks up against naming the 3rd party because it 'add more pain to her' :yikes: really amazed at what these people are thinking??? :slapshead:

            You have had me thinking.

Since it is human to err, what kind of mistakes would you condone of a would-be politician? Say, if the mistake or failure was made more than 5 years back before he becomes a candidate for election?
            1) EMA?
            2) Bankruptcy?
            3) Drunk driving?
            4) Hit and Run?
            5) Sex scandal before marriage?
            6) Dismissed from x-company?

Please feel free to add to my list.

                Now that you mentioned it....

First, YSL.. (kena whacked the hardest).. MSM hitting hard at the man.. no attempt to dig out the woman

                Then, the CNB and SCDF..?

Then.. lastly.. the MP.. with MSM hitting hard at the woman and all attention on her.. while the man's act being promoted as \"honorable\"..

The sequence of events.. seems to be in favor of the MP's exposure (which, could have been inevitable somehow due to evidences in someone's hand? How long was the affair and did it started before YSL?)

                hmm.........
MSM has been very kind to MP so far. Different treatment from all other scandals! Somehow, doesn't seem quite right.

know why? because internal info said that this woman is a what is english called for 'wolf something in chinese'?

She climbed the corporate ladder very fast but in a wrong way which internal people found very disgusted.

Point finger to her is a natural human being reaction.

Hm...I vaguely recall posting my reply here...and seeing this question here still standing makes me feel obligated to explain myself.

Anyway, since my older version is gone now, I might as well rephrase it.

In this case, it is equivalent to foolishness - lacking or exhibiting a lack of good sense or judgement; unwise. One sees so many other cases going on and still making the same foolish mistake; knowing the consequences that it has a tendency of destroying trust, a loving home, yet still do it; knowing it might jeopardize own career and reputation yet still do it, or perhaps even contract diseases and still do it - I just don't get it.

Perhaps I think they are stupid whilst they think I am the stupid one to believe that everyone has the ability to be above all these, that it can be done.

I hope the person responsible for publishing the screen grab of the initimate messages between the parties involved wont be 'punished' too severely. He/she must have struggled for a while before deciding to go ahead with the revealation since the info was sent to TNP 2 days before the official resignation of MP. It is unusual for a media to hold back such juicy news.
