Looking for Kids Shoes with Wheel

I got Heelys for my DD at the same price in OG. They are different from the clones in that they have 2 wheels per shoe.

I bought the clones - the type with one wheel in each shoe - from a push cart in Chinatown for $39. Then, I saw them in Giant, Vivocity for $20+. There’s also a push cart in Vovocity that sells them. And my cousin got them for his daughter fr somewhere in Jurong East (? another push cart). And my neighbour got her daughter one from an online store fr China.

My ds who’s 5 and a half requested to have Heely shoes. Are they safe for younger kids?

Yes and no. Sometimes they do forget about the wheels and fall backwards as they get up from chairs or out of cars. Otherwise, they are definitely safer than inline skates. -

I think I'll wait out till he's six and hopefully more sensible or outgrow this craze. Though I feel he'll enjoy them especially while waiting for us while we shop

The Heeleys clone I got for dc has wheels that can retract, so the shoe becomes like a normal track shoe.
Dc fell while "skating" on the the wheels the other day. Butt was painful for a few days, but recovered. -
Hi everyone, just to share some of my experiences with Heelys. For learners the clones are actually better as the wheels do not spin so fast. I bought a pair of clones for my kid and we found that out by accident. The clones had a button on the back of the heel to retract the wheel. We also have a pair of larger handed-down original Heelys, and by comparison the original ones have faster wheels (technically due to the ABEC ball bearings with less resistance).
The down side is that the clones cannot withstand heavy usage. One wheel has been skated until the rubber cracked and fell off. But the good thing is that we have already mastered the thing, so got our money’s worth. I am saving up to upgrade to original Heelys because besides being faster, they can also glide for a longer distance per kick. That’s more effective if you want them to follow you around ("hey can you walk faster or not!" etc).
The price is the only thing that’s hard to swallow. I wished they had some basic no frills model around $100. My own shoes cost only $40! -

Actually, smoother wheels may be easier for beginners, at least that is my experience based on inline skating. It was harder to learn on bad skates. But I do wish the original Heelys have that button you talked about for retracting the wheels.
Maybe there's a market for 2nd Heelys? Kids grow so fast these days. -
