All About Secondary School English Enrichment

Most of my friends send their kids to Learning Lab. There is another centre formed by ex-Learning Lab teachers called Creative Campus (also very popular).

How about Tacher ?

Would you recommend Joanne Chew or Creative Campus for English writing for Secondary school? Anyone have experience with these centres?

I heard from my student that Morris Allen is not bad.

From my experience as a current JC GP teacher, SOT has a good programme that caters to higher-ability students. My student from 2012 (just did her A levels) gave me feedback that she found it difficult to follow the lessons because of the huge class size (it’s like school, she says), and I found that I had to re-teach certain things because SOT’s programme wasn’t suitable for her. That being said, for students who are more capable in GP, and are already doing fairly well for GP, SOT provides a good platform to stretch their ability.

- How do you/your dd define \"good\" i.e. what are you looking for in a centre/tutor?
- Has past teachers/tutors commented specifically on her work, or any areas she might need to look into? For instance, it could be a matter of comprehending some of the materials assigned, or getting to grips with expository/argumentative essays and responses etc.
The place which you were recommended certainly has a solid reputation for its curriculum and materials. Others that I have heard good reviews about (on KSP and elsewhere) would be School of Thought, Knowledge Mill (if your dd is in upper secondary going on to GP) and Creative Campus. I have also heard about Focus Academy, but I do not know enough about the place to say anything constructive. -
