hi everyone I am at stay-at-home mum and I love to make pastries, cakes and all sorts of desserts for my family at home.

like to share with everyone my most recent creation well-loved by the family.

cookies & cream ice cream! πŸ˜„

      http://img4.cookinglight.com/i/2001/05/0105-cookie-ice-cream-l.jpg\">

recommending everyone to try making this at home because it is easy to make and the ingredients are incredibly simple.

cookies & cream ice cream recipe
      - the usual ice cream base ingredients
      - about 9 oreo cookies

you will also need an http://spoonfeed.com.sg/swiss-ice-cream-maker-machine-singapore/ to get the ice cream mixture churning and turning into ice cream.

now I am trying to explore more ice cream recipes on my own. anyone also making ice cream this Christmas? any secret ice cream recipes to share? thanks!!

Pardon me, can you also share what are the usual ice cream based ingredients. Trying to see if it is really that easy before buying the ice-cream maker. http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/posting.php?mode=quote&f=37&p=923611#

yeah sure - it's whipping cream, full milk and sugar. stir in a bowl with a spoon before pouring into the ice cream machine.

with these 3 basic ingredients, you can make all sorts of flavours of ice cream, whether simple or exotic. it depends on what kind you're making - such as cookies and cream, strawberry, banana, chocolate, mango, cappuccino or new york cheesecake. you can try the recipes there, fantastic.

if you leave 3 ingredients as it is, you get vanilla ice cream~

but i need to warn you that once you start making your own ice cream, you will never settle for home brands from ntuc like Nestle or kings anymore. cos from what I have made so far, homemade ice cream taste beats famous ice cream brands easily. probably because the ingredients we use are high-quality and fresh. :rahrah:

the amount depends on the ice cream flavour you're making, what flavour are u making?

actually they wrote it out in detail, go see the http://spoonfeed.com.sg/category/ice-cream-recipe/ posted - nice!

                  Hi Sallye,

I also bought this brand of icecream maker machine from spoonfeed!!!
You never know how much my sec 1 boy loves ice cream!! Always wasting money on Ben & Jerry's Strawberry CheeseCake ice cream!!
And with this machine, i am in control of the amount of sugar and milk i would like to add in! Making it a much healthier choice for my son and my entire family.
My son loves the ice cream that i make every fornightly so much that we stop buying B&J's ice cream! πŸ˜›

I would recommend parents to make your own ice cream!
                  Cheap and healthier choice!!!

AFAIK, Whip cream aren't exactly cheap. How much whip cream is needed and how much does it cost to make a 1L tub of ice cream? :scratchhead:

                      Hi Nebbermind,

from my experience, I usually purchase whip cream which cost about $7 and only a few scoops is needed to make a good home-made ice cream.
So I always use 1 can of whip cream for 3 tubs of ice creams.
If you calculate it out, it’s actually really worth it. because my boy always buy B&J for about $5.50-6 per scoop!

Do you make your own ice cream too?
Anyone have more recipes to share?
