      Herbie:

May be u can call up ri to ask abt how you can go abt buying the sch badge before the investiture.

      Hi Herbie,
Got the badge and tie (a bit kiasu) through the school bookshop, before knowing during reporting that the boys not supposed to wear the badge and tie before the investiture... wonder how 'tight' the requirement like... that's why asking fellow KSP whether what's the practice like in previous years...

Syshi, you have a interesting question here, but for sure I think so that it should be Secondary school uniform since it is after 2 Jan13 . Heard there are some whose scheduled to go on 30 Dec12 which drew them to think should be primary school uniform. haha... perhaps both are just acceptable . 🤷

Hi, my son is taking Japanese next year and I am wondering if anyone has any old Japanese textbooks in good condition to sell.

            Edusave award presentation

Since we r in this topic, i have a qn:
            - is the award presentation ceremony held the same way at all constituencies?
The reason i am asking this is because last yr was the 1st yr we attended the ceremony and we were utterly disappointed with it. It was a 3 hr ceremony in which 2 hrs were spent juz listening to a speaker from some family services centre. After that the kids had to queue up according to sch name to collect their cert n chq. If the students wish to take photo with the MP they ve to q up again to take photo but tis is optional - not sure if its free cos by then we were tired of waitg so we left without taking the photo. I really felt that the purpose of the ceremony was not achieved. So i want to know if its a usual procedure.

My son came back home after his three days SCOUT camp. SO DIRTY and SO TIRED.

DS came home from 2D1N RV Camp, tired but not dirty..
DS says there were lots of outdoor activities (DS looks like a lobster now), but no choir practices at all, during the camp..
DS says they slept in the air-conditioned classrooms.. 😄

              Hi sunj1252 & firefly

Can share your ds experience in Scouts so far and whether you would encourage anyone to join this CCA ? My ds going to RI next year and he may join Scouts.. am concerned if this CCA will take up a lot of his time and how many camps in a year ?

Different constituency got different organizer, hence different practice. Better feedback to the MP / organizer...

Because my ds does not have specificial sports, art or music gift, he joined 01 Scouts uniform group. Every Monday and Wendesday afternoon from 3.30pm to 6.45pm, sometimes activity on Saturday. They were asked to join several school camps for 3 - 5 days. There are a total of 3 major school camps, one for each school holiday. In this CCA, the boys have more physical training and learn outdoor skills.
