i'm not exactly sure, but the average timing for normal combis should be about 3-4.30. But for those who take odd combi, they can end at 7 - with lots of breaks in the middle. <-- This was what i heard from my seniors, but i'm not sure.
for JC1s, they are starting two periods (i believe) of boarding program of 3 weeks each, the cohort will be separated, not sure how though. It is also likely to have boarding after a week of orientation.
for JC2s, it's isn't confirmed yet, they might be starting this year --> for that, i have no idea. -

Thanks. By the way, is art and music elective compulsory for JH1?
No, but there's GAP though. Half year of art and half year of music.phankao:
Hi everybody, I am new to this forum and I hope to learn from all of you. 7 Jan is the orientation day involving parents as well. Just wondering where can we park the car as we were told that there won't be any parking available for parents. I have a baby so may be inconvenient to take public transport. Any advice? Thanks
I had baby then too. I just ask my dh to drop me & baby & sec 1 child along Dunearn and we walk in like all the others. And have dh find some where to park the car. *haha* Can be anywhere in the estate if he can't find in the school! But in the end, he drove into the school and parked next to the sports complex (in front the track/field). They directed the cars that drove into the school. -
@isadoralizzy : thanks for answering but i thought boarding for JC is a whole term ?
Btw r u a student there ? -
Jonathan Lim:
Boarding is only for JC1. It's only for like 5 or 6 weeks, I think. (sorry, I have no children in JC level, so that's about as much as I know.).@isadoralizzy : thanks for answering but i thought boarding for JC is a whole term ?

I would've thought most JCs have around the same haphazard timings for lessons? THere are breaks throughout the day, depending on the day/subjects taken. On some days there might be lectures ending 5pm even?
For NJC Tues/Thurs should be the shorter days? -

By the way, why don't you sign up for the SH ( JC level) tours which are scheduled on 9 & 10th January 2013. Then can get your queries answered by the student leaders and the teachers/dean, etc.

@phankao : thanks i am aware of that . But definitely experiences from the students are the most accurate

@phankao : My son is deciding between ACJC n NJC and time is definitely very crucial at JC level for him. But will he be at a losing end compared to the existing students since they got a headstart ? Much apologies as i am not very sure of the syllabus covered from sec 1 to 4 in NJC

I'm not totally sure, but I think the students in the Integrated Programme are not in the same classes nor do they have the same curriculum as those that are accepted under JC-Joint-Admissions Posting after O-levels? So certainly those who come in after O-levels would be on par with all the rest in their class. But again, this is what I've heard. My own child is in Year 4 in the coming year, not JC.
Like I said, do sign up for the JC tours. All JCs will be having JC tours during that week. Check the JCs' websites or call/email the schools for more info. -
phankao:
nope, for JC1 is definitely 3 weeks... it's like a leadership program, for normal combi, should end about 3-4+ for JC1, odd combi, esp the humans have very weird timings.
