Heard that the child of a neighbour, with a COP of 261 but no other special talent, was able to successfully appeal for a transfer to RGS. Just wondering what's happening - what's the point of setting a high COP only to admit students who don't make the cut? How is that fair to students who strove very hard to earn a high COP?

Isn't RGS COP only 263? I'd say the girl stood a high chance. 261 and 263 isn't that much off, so i think it's too harsh to say she doesn't make the cut. Plus, COP is not set by the school, it is the T-score of the last student admitted. It's not up to RGS to set the COP, but how many students applied...

It would be unfair that just because RGS is a top school then people who lets say, get 262 don't stand a chance. Why shouldn't they? They probably worked hard too.

By your reasoning, every other students with COP 261 & 262 ought to seek a transfer and deserve a transfer to RGS. Then maybe those with 260 and 259 would think likewise, that their score isn't that far from 263 and therefore equally deserve a place in the school too??? So where does it stop? Either the schools are setting unrealistically high COP or are quite lax in enforcing the COP that they had set.

As mentioned, COP is not set by the school. It just means the last person who got into RGS has a COP of 263. It is not up to the school because they take in people until the 400+ places are filled, and the 400th person has a t-score of 263.

Based on your logic, the appealing system shouldn't exist at all, should it? Not just RGS, but every sec school.

No, at the bus stop along Stevens. You can also drop off along Draycott although I've never done that before so don't know the traffic situation there.

There'll be a queue along Anderson, and this extends into Balmoral and both sides of Stevens waiting to turn into Anderson.
Oh! ok thanks for yr swift reply.

Traffic starts to jam up around what time?

If we are at steven rd around 6:30am, will the traffic outside of rgs be smooth and without any jam?

                  Definitely.

Usually jam is around 7-7.15 i guess. But when it rains, the jam can go until 7.20 šŸ˜ž

                  6.30am a bit early...i think 6.50 would be good.

This morning, we took PIE (towards city). The traffic was slow at Stevens Road exit (@6.55am). Quite smooth after SJI/SCGS but need to wait for about 2-3 traffic lights before can turn right onto Anderson Road. Managed to drop off my dd @ 7.10am.
