sandyman, my son does not take school bus too but I spoke to bus operator Mr Yeo as I was exploring the option. He told me school bus is only provided for one way (morning). In any case, just give him a call to ask about options from Simei.
JRLam, not sure about Sports but I think the Band is high profile as they take in boys for Band via DSA. Probably, we can guess from this : http://www.sji.edu.sg/subpage.php?id=279
As for chance to join the sports CCA of your choice, I believe it will be based on the 4 factors listed in the recent newsletter to parents. -

Another possible way is take the MRT to Eunos, change to bus 966 (15 mins ride) to CJC, then change to 105, 132, 151, 153, 154, 156, 186 to SJI (1 one bus stop).need some advise please...DS just started in SJI...we live in Simei...he's currently taking the MRT from Simei to Newton...and bus no 700 from Newton to Whitley Road...is takes an hour+
is there a better way? any suggestions would be appreciated -

My boy is new to SJI and in the O level programme. I read the earlier postings on Pg 1-Pg 20 from this thread and saw a lot of parents are unhappy about the principal Dr Koh in 2009, 2010…No time to read the rest… Can any parents advise if this principal Dr Koh is good? -
My son is new to SJI & would like to know from fellow parents how their sons felt about school this past few days? Overheard a parent in school commenting how some teachers were harsh on her son. Any comments to share? Any teachers to note? Rdgs
