I wish to have CA1 which the sch used to have. Now the weightage of mid year, CA2 and SA2 are higher.

I am sure my boy can finish his work if he spends lesser time Dilly dally and on eating and be more efficient in packing his bag. Currently we hope he can finish school work before dinner, so after dinner he can do revision before bed. When remedial starts and cca too, he will reach home at 440pm 3times a week. How to get him to start on home work as soon as he reach home? He will need to rest and winddown. Hence, I will let him take a bite then start school work at 6pm. Dinner at 730pm smaller portion so he can finish faster and also lesser risk of indigestion. 8-9pm revision assuming homework done and 9pm prepare for bed.

hi, jus wondering if you let yr child sleeps early,will they hv enough time to do their homework?


mine goes to bed at 10am(may not sleep instantly) and up at 550am. less than 8 hours and he lacks sleep coz always have to drag him offf bed. he tells me he doesnt wan to go to sch.

i feel bad that he is not getting enuff sleeep though i am worst tha him coz i still have housework to do though i stick to min. i hv no maid, no car. juz the 2 of us handling 2 kids and a bb at nite.

i m worried his sch work will be neglected even though his student care centre can help him. really no time to coach him at nite as his sleep is more impt.

I believe schools would have worked out a system to dole out manageable
amount of homework. Sleep should never be compromised. A tired child would be cranky and all sorts of negative behaviours spill over to all areas of life.

Train your child to manage his time wisely and get all schoolwork completed at his student care. At this age, he should be able to complete most of his work independently. This frees up your time to get other stuff organized.

Dd sleeps a lot in comparison to most kids, about 9 to 9 and a half hours of sleep daily. I guess I helps that school is within walking distance and her school is not so \"on\" , so homework has been manageable for the last 4 years. (She doesn't go for any tuition classes)

We have rec'd a circular from her FT that P5 will be much more demanding, will have to see how it goes.

Will it remain ideal for secondary schooj?
Should choice of school be largely dependent on distance given the number of subjects is twice much?

Usually higher chinese hw is more. With all the chinese writings, chinese spelling, …

Stress stress… Especially i beg the chinese teacher to allow my boy to take higher chinese. He was recommended for normal chinese, now have to work extra hard to show some result. At least not bai seh.

For sec schools, we are prepared to let dd travel a little further so that hopefully she can \"mix with the right company\" in her teenage years when she may (but hopefully not :xedfingers: ) be a bit more rebellious? Need not be a top school, just decent ones which are strict in discipline and can keep her meaningfully engaged. I have seen some sec kids ( still in their school uniforms) who glue sniffed at a park nearby my place and loitter around the void decks, creating a din. :sad:

Club 2002 parents, are your P5s school time-table similar? Was wondering why Science always has a lesser periods compare with others :?

When my kid was in P4, I also note the imbalance - given that all 4 subjects share equal weightage, I thought they shd be given the same resources allocation..and most of the time at least 40% of the science taught in school are thru lab or experiments..the teacher said that is for the kids to grasp the concept..but what abt the critical thinking and processing? Isnt that equally important? Though the school worksheet will expose them to some of the critical thinking process questions..but I think it is still lacking and that is when assessment books and tuition come in and play apart, esp for kids like my gal
