At least, at the end of the 2nd day, we were told to let the kids wear PE attire for the camp.

Actually, for the past few years, all P1s were supposed to attend the last day of the camp in their PE attire. So, I was quite surprised when I read that they were supposed to turn up in school uniform.

My son is 1D this year and find that the 3days orientation camp is poorly planned, I think without the parents around at the assembly hall, the kids will be as blur as sotong.

Only 3rd day of sch, my son gave 40 cents to his classmate cos his classmate said so. Haiz.. I'm making sure his form teacher is giving me a satisfied answer by this week.

So parents, pls remind ur kids nt to be too nice to share their pocket money with their \"friends\", otherwise they will end up with a hungry stomach ! :slapshead:

According to the school calendar, this year’s P2 CCA Fair will be held in September. So, more time will be given to everyone in the selection of CCA.

My DS said that recess time for P1-P4 is at 10.30am. Anyone can confirm this? This canteen is so small, how can it accommodate that many students?

The recess time for my P3 twins is from 10 - 10.30am. The recess time for my P1 DD is from 10.30am to 11am. Not sure abt P2s and P4s though...

Overall I find the orientation still ok? Me and hubby actually went during recess time only for the first 2 days so we find it still manageable except for the kiasu parents… Final day was also still alright for us, I guess its the standard SOP? I rmbr my pri sch don even hav orientation and Radin Mas is really alright for us…

                        Hi, whats PAL n FTGP??

PAL - Programme for Active Learning (PAL)

As part of the Primary Education Review and Implementation (PERI) recommendations accepted by MOE in 2009, PAL was introduced to strengthen the emphasis on non-academic programmes for Primary 1 and 2 pupils. This is in line with a key desired outcome of PERI recommendations to balance the acquisition of knowledge with the development of skills and values. This is to prepare our children for a more dynamic future. Conducted within curriculum time, PAL modules provide pupils with broad exposure in two areas — Sports and Outdoor Education, and Performing and Visual Arts. It aims to facilitate the well-rounded development of pupils in the five learning domains (cognitive, moral, social, aesthetics and physical) and help pupils to develop social emotional competencies.

FTGP - Form Teacher Guidance Period (FTGP)

FTGP serves as an additional platform for Form Teachers to build better rapport with the pupils so as to enable them to identify the needs of the pupils and provide better support for them. The teachers undergo training to equip them with the skills and resources for them to carry out class-based activities that will better support the development of pupils’ social-emotional competencies. Through FTGP, pupils will have a more structured environment for class and peer interaction, understanding of their emotions and needs and more conversations with their teachers. We hope that with the new structure in place our pupils will grow to be individuals who are confident and having the resilience to overcome future challenges and achieve success.

                        Thanks!
