      Hi KSP members

For your info, PSLE 2008 - 2012 past years exam paper is out for sale at popular now. Do grab it
One is EPH and another one SAP. I wont grab it at this moment because still not so sure the school will use which publisher. After all, the school will sure inform the students to buy it and to be done during lesson.[/quote]

I saw them at Popular Junction 8.
EPH ones have answers but SAP publisher sells the answers separately.
No need to get them bcos the school will do mass ordering for the students. You should be receiving a form soon...amt will be deducted via edusave.

        Hi everyone

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask.My younger one is taking PSLE this year.
My plan to start on Orals earlier.
Any good resources on Chinese and English Oral to recommend? Ideally cone with audio CDfor Listening and following PSLE format closely.

        :thankyou:

Pardon my ignorance  Is there such a thing as past PSLE papers that child can practise on? During my era (which is v long ago  ), there were those 10-year series for O levels and A levels...cannot recall for PSLE. Not sure about now...

For years, I've been printing papers from the website for my kids.

However, some recent observations are hokkien clan schools have asked for their papers to be take down due to copyright infringement issues. In addition, it would take awhile before we can see 2012 papers on line? Due to that.... I parted with $68 and bought all subjects (including HCL) from a vendor that sells these exam papers.... Not sure what is the market rate though.... Actually, to print will take time and paper and toner cost $ as well. I am only doing that for my P6.

For the P5, will wait for online version to be out.

RE: MOE published PSLE 2008 - 2012 past years exam questions.

                  From our experience :
Schools will do a mass order of the PSLE booklets, either EPH or SAP. Cheaper BUT the pupil get only the question booklets, no answer key. Those sold in Popular, EPH’s answer book sold together, SAP’s answer key sold separately (and much smaller font). HOWEVER, these answer keys are provided by the publishers, not by MOE. That means some of the answers (especially Science and EL open-end compre, based on our experience) could be INcorrect.

For my ds’s class, they went through the booklets in class and supplementary lessons in P6, Term 3. I had earlier bought a set from Popular and let him complete them at comfortable pace during June holidays. I marked them using the answer keys and problematic ones, we discussed on KSP or with friends. Hence, by the time his class goes through the booklets, he only re-did those he got wrong. By then, his schedule was packed with supplementary and revision, rather hectic.

That’s how we did it but I have friends who left it to the school to go through the booklets too. I guess it is up to individual’s planning and comfort zone.

I remember psle2011mom’s suggestion in our old thread : try to find a P6 senior in your school and get the booklets with answers from them. Those answers should be more reliable (again, especially for Science OE and EL compre).

                  Just my 2cents’ worth.

Its important to watch out for their emotional well being later on. Came across kids who had to pop panadols daily due to severe headaches, insomnia and kids who inflict self-hurt, it’s real and scary. So must really strike a balance and watch out for those signs that they are just having too much…

When the days’ worksheets pile up after returning home from supp classes and its just too much too late to finish the worksheets, I actually helped my girl to do her English paper by bracketing all the answers for her to save her some time to focus on her other weaker subjects. Trust me, that will not short changed them in any way, if that subject you helping is their strong subject, they will still get their A*. This so that I can allow her to be able to sleep by 10, latest 11, my strict PSLE rule.

I dont know about other schools, but mine is very very KS and at times EMS plus MT past year papers per set in a day, on top of that they have to memorise MT Oral passages, EL compo passages, its just madness, so drilling.

Yet we must not show them our stress or stress too much on the stress but to ask them to find joy admist the stress. Their emotional well being and having enough sleep is really very important.

Mama Mania, do you mean 4 sets paper for homework per day? Or, are they done in school and whatever cannot be finished became homework?
