Secondary School CCA

What is the impact if one REALLY do without CCA? Lose out on the 2 bonus points? Anything else?
Lose out on bonus points, less to write in testimonial. Difficult to get scholarship.
And honestly, it might not seem like much, but those 2 bonus points mean ALOT. It easily means the difference between being able to go into the top elite schools aka. HC/RJ or having to settle for the next top 3 schools. And if you have gone to see the number of students with ___ distinctions between RJ/HC and the next few schools (VJ,NJ,TJ), you will see that there's a laughable difference between them. VJ might be third, but the disparity between the 2nd and 3rd is HUGE. -
Gmmm…so if not aiming for top elite jcs, one can do without the 2 bonus pt? What is the criteria of scholarship?

To the former, perhaps. However, why close the door upon yourself? You never know what can happen.
Different scholarships have different requirements, depends which you are aiming for. -
Hi, do you know for symphoni band do they choose the instrument for the students based on their peformance and availability or the students are allowed to choose one that they are interested in ? Will everyone get the chance to participate in perfomances ? My dd love to play music instrument such as piano and guitar however she is reluctant in choosing symphoni band as CCA coz she is not sure which instrument she will get to choose…and do u know why those who choose uniform grp & symphoni band are not allowed to change CCA, TIA

I don't know anything about band, so can't help you with the former. But with the latter, it's not you can't change CCA, it's that if you change, you lose all the points garnered in that CCA *unless you change CCA because of medical reason. -

Thanks Skyed.[/quote]There would be trials held where they will determine which instrument suits your child.Skyed:

Lol.....if it turn out that she is also sucky at the instrument she like..they probably will kick her out of the band and transfer her to least interesting CCA...
