Looking at last year’s cca trial schedule, I think cca trials are on different days for different sports. Tomorrow is probably just brief intro.

So, I suppose they must bring PE attire?
DS not bringing PE attire tmr.yukilei:
No, yukilei. He just said lessons start tomorrow.
Thks jesschan. Read fm last yr post tat they might end up quite late when there's CCA trial. That's y checking to see whether he'll be staying late tmr. -
Only the second day, the teacher already told the class to buy a laptop. Is it a must for Year 1? Asked ds to use the one at home but he said may need to bring it to school.

yukilei:
Did ur DS said need to stay back for the orientation tmr? DS only said formal lesson starts tmr.
DS said tmr is orientation not trail session. Formal lesson starts tmr, so orientation must be afternoon. DS is waiting for the trail session leh.
It is stated in the calendar that cca orientation part 2 & 3 will be on wed and fri respectively, not sure if it is cca trial. My son said cca will only be confirmed in feb.jesschan:

My son said they are not allowed to bring laptop unless permission is obtained. -

Am bit surprise too as in DSA parents briefing, principle said no need laptop for sec 1 & 2 students. Today DS said he needs a laptop when project starts, properly late this year, so I might have to buy a new laptop for him. -

DS said teacher emphasis a few time not to tell parents it's a must to buy.8228:

She's giving them the specs, if they r buying, try to buy one within the specs. They need a laptop to do project. -

I believe it's a norm for school to get students to buy laptops. But it's really a hassle to carry it if it's only used by 1 particular subject. -

He can use mine at home but I won't dare to let him bring it to school as he loses things frequently. May have to get him one during the next IT show. -

Fully agree with you 8228. But we could possibly do now is to wait for the sch to give the specs. I too like you worry that my DS may lose it but it's time to let go and let them be responsible. I know is easy to say than done but let us motivate each other and rest of parents in this forum.
