Hi everyone,
My daughter is entering ZD in Jan 2013 in P2. We had just returned from abroad, so we’re very new to the whole system. Is anyone here using the after-school child care at Merah Saga? Can you share your experience?
Also, how do you find the quality of the CCA there?
Thanks for your feedback!

hi all,
My daughter has just started as Primary 1 this year. I had gone through the orientation and the principal really put a lot of effort in her presentation. The classes were named as STAR3. Although the name is a bit too long for kids, it is meaningful. Hope that they will continue with this trend. Class starts from 715am to 130pm..luckily it is only 5mins walking distance. hope that this forum will be active again.

Hi, my daughter is in 1 Versatility. how about yours?
-
P2 classes are named as GIVER3. I thought it’s the same for all levels…
-
I also think its GIVER3.
My son is in P1 Responsibility. -
My daughter is in P2 respect.
If anyone is considering letting your child take up violin at ZDPS as CCA, I wouldn’t recommend. It is the only CCA that you have to pay for it, and it’s not worth paying. I’ve paid about $170 per term (10 lessons)… yes, it’s cheap you would say, but ratio is 1: 10 or 12 approximately. I’ve also paid about $120 for 2 violin exams. I decided to stop after a year because I realized that the exam doesn’t mean anything, there’s not even a certificate. And worse of all, the students were not properly taught. Their postures were wrong, the violin was not supported correctly. Holding of the bow was wrong, etc. The attitude of the owner from this music school was really bad too. About half of the parents did not let their child continue violin in P2. -

I heard from another parent (whose son is my son's former classmate) that they didn't teach properly also. No sight-reading of musical notes and they just provided some numbers to help them play the violin. I don't think this is the proper way to teach a kid music.
In the end, she pulled both her sons out from violin lessons. -
Thanks for sharing. I’m glad I didn’t let my son sign up. Btw did anyone feedback to the principal? If the school knows about this they may change vendor. At least other parents won’t have to waste their money then.

Hello!
I am quite new to this forum thus still figuring out what is DD and DS?
I will be registering my son this yr for P1 in 2014 and would like to know more about ZDPS.
Single session - what are the school hours?
I did not do PV and living within 1km. What are my chances?
Thanks! -

If within 1km, very good chance. If I am not wrong, this year's P1 has enough vacancies. So good chance of getting in although year-to-year, application numbers will be different.
School hours - 7.30am to 1.30pm. But must reach school by 7.15am.
