Well it would be good practice for later life (or even University, if you plan on studying overseas or living in hostels). Living apart would probably be more expensive than just commuting everyday.

Your imagination sure is vivid, but given that the penalties for kidnapping are very severe, I would say the odds are very low.

Does it really bother you that much that it's a one hour commute either way? I have friends who used to do that every day (some probably still do in uni) and while they moaned about it once in a while, they all put up with it. Working life probably won't be any better - for some jobs, you're lucky if you can go home before eight. And unfortunately, telling your boss you don't want to commute long distances will do you no favours.

If you don't have very viable options or are unwilling to explore them, I'm afraid you just have to deal with it. Either you incur higher costs, or take public transport like most people do.

Got my O level results today and my L1R5 stood at 7 after CCA 2 point deduction.

          English - B3
          SS/Geog - A2
          Math - A1
          A Math - A1
          Physics - A1
          Chemistry - A1
          Biology - A1
          Chinese - A1

I am definitely going for science stream (BCME) but have difficulty deciding which JC to go for. Currently, these are my choices.

          - ACJC
          - TJC
          - MJC
          - AJC
          - NYJC
          - SAJC

BTW, I live in the East. I need advice on the learning environment for each JC and whether I can still enter ACJC or TJC even though their science stream COP is 6.
          Thanks.

I’m in a similar position to you, got 7 raw, after deduction 5. Don’t know if there’s chance to appeal to VJC Science…

It is unlikely that you will get into TJC. TJC cut off is 6, and ACJC was 6 last year but it was 7 once, so not sure what it will be this year. Even if it’s 7, the chances are a bit low because -4 will get priority over -2 in JAE queue. ACJC is not known to be very strong in science though.

hmm staying in boarding is a viable option.

Can wake up very much later because transport time is minimal.
Oh and as much as NJ is concerned, its boarding school is NOT only for foreign students. Well… while all (if not most) foreign or international students do stay on the boarding school, there is still space allocated for locals. In fact NJ has this boarding programme where each level (from JH1 or sec 1 to SH1 or jc1) will have to undergo the programme for a term. compulsory i think. its not just merely accomodation but you get to go through alot of awesome stuff, activities and line-ups as part of the programme.

You can try, the COP for arts stream is 7, you can try entering then appealing your stream to science if you want, but that is a risk. If you have notable achievements in science then your chances are higher.

AJC is a good choice for you!

Teachers are caring and people mug openly(not secretly behind your back and claim that they hate muggers!).
Students often study together and will help each other in studies too!!

Ajc is just directly opposite yio chu kang mrt. 3 min walk from mrt to school.

1.5min for those who have to run before the gate close.
