hquek:
1. :rotflmao: same same, my dd1 opted for erhu becos of air-con. This year will still be learning erhu.
Pls note that my kids are boys and they don't really share share like what girls do. these are what I recall from my 'interrogation' sessions.reiner:
got the timetable last nite... but what are these lessons:- :?:
1. CCAP-MU >> chinese culture arts program music lesson??
2. FTGR>> Form Tr Guidance Period... what is this?
3. PAL>> Programme for Active Learning... what is this again??
4. CCAP-CA>> chinese culture arts program calligraphy?
5. MASS EX.>> Mass Excersie > what are the kids be doing eh?
6. CME>> Civil Moral Education>> different from social studies right? is it di zi gui??
asked #1, she didnt know
... still dreaming lor...
managed to dig some out, but unsure....
1. CCAP-MU >> chinese culture arts program music lesson?? I know they have session to learn either guzheng/erhu. DS2 still dunno what he is going to learn. DS1 keep telling him erhu is best because got aircon. In P2, they may learn drums instead (for DS1, erhu still the best because of aircon...hee)
2. FTGP>> Form Tr Guidance Period... what is this? not too sure what goes on, but i think they will do some activities to get to know their friends better or maybe for the FT to talk talk?
3. PAL>> Programme for Active Learning... what is this again?? started last year for P1 and P2, mainly kids go outside their classroom and learn more about the environment around them and about nature (that's what I got from my ds - maybe the boys were looking for insects only)
4. CCAP-CA>> chinese culture arts program calligraphy? chinese calligraphy session
5. MASS EX.>> Mass Excersie > what are the kids be doing eh? instead of assembly, whole school gets together and do exercise
6. CME>> Civil Moral Education>> different from social studies right? is it di zi gui?? this is the chinese moral ed book that we have, about how to behave etc. not di zi gui though I guess the concepts are similar
2. From what I understand during the P1 parents' briefing, it's for the FT to understand the kids better. It's a one-to-one session with the student.
3. I'm not exactly sure what are the activities but dd1 had lots of fun.
4. dd1 enjoyed the calligraphy lessons. She wants to continue at home but I've yet to buy the brushes and ink heehee
5. I heard from dd1, di zi gui is conducted during assembly time. At the end of last yr she brought back a copy and was reading it during the dec hols. -
I gave dd1 a plastic folder since last yr for her to keep any forms, hand-outs that are given to her. This more or less protected the paper from being crumpled.
Most of the bks are in school. Right now she has Chi, Maths, Art and Music text with her. Though I think, by next wk, Art and Music bks should be kept in school unless there’s a change from last yr.
I think the trs might have started teaching a bit here and there for the P1s bah. Last yr, it was not totally 10 days(? Not sure exact days but think abt there) of no teaching orientation. -
dd1 does not like water cooler, she has a 600ml, there about, water bottle.

no leh, i saw DS2 bag got maths worksheet, already do page 1,2,3. I think orientation over. How many times can they show kids where the toilet is? Heard they do watch videos at times.and she said gotta bring textbks to sch today.... tot its still orientation period??
so next week will be start of formal lessons??

DS2 water bottle about 500ml. you are correct, water coolers everywhere and I think kids enjoy to use it. I try not to fill up so much else the poor boy like mule, carry so heavy. -

can opt one meh? I thought they go for try-outs and the teachers choose? maybe I communication error.

hmm, i heard from DS1 before that teacher will ask them to come up one by one and chit chat. haiz, to me it sounds a bit like interrogation session.
maybe I got skeletons in my closet. ha ha.
your girl very good. if it's in chinese, my kid will quietly tuck it very far from view. The day he pick up his dzg and read....i tio tao pio (first prize). :rotflmao: :rotflmao: -
My kids have at least 2 plastic folders (gave them the freebie ones from NLB) but still they can come back with salted veg.
btw, Reiner, my boys also like that. I ask 10 times, they MAY finally deign to give me 1 answer. If I ask 1 time and they give me 10 lines, I think I will go into a state of shock… A bit envious of those kids that go back and prattle to their mums.
BUT these days a bit better. because they have to fight for attention (now that both are in primary school), they are volunteering a bit more than what I used to get. -

Hmmmm dunno, from what I understand the instruments were displayed for the kids to try. She decided to go for erhu and the tr was ok with her choice. She has been enjoying the air-con ever since :rotflmao:
Have to see mood one lah, think she was bored those few weeks, so decided to read the di zi gui :rotflmao: -
now you know the secret...keep her bored?
