Dear All Mummies and Daddies with kids in Fernvale Primary School
A belated Happy New Year to All!
My girl is in Primary 2 this year, quite relieve that she has been adjusting well to her schooling life ... can say that she enjoyed her 1st year in Fernvale Primary School.
This year, I've noticed a slight change to her PAL activites timing. PAL is no longer conducted outside normal school timing but is scheduled to be within her normal schooling hours, so she longer needs to stay back after school.
Does any Mummuies/Daddies know if Higher Chinese is offered in the school? I was asked this question by my colleague and then realised that I have no answer to this. Hope someone can enlighten me on this.
Hope more Mummies & Daddies can continue to share latested news/updates in Fernvale Primary School.
Let our kiasu powers combine!!! :nunchuk: -
Hi ah bee,
Yes, they do but only in Primary 4. You can refer to this link http://fernvalepri.sg/Letters_to_Parents/405_Subject-Based_Banding_for_P4_Pupils.pdf. It is found in the school's website, under Parent's Corner. -

Ah bee, you are welcome.
My gal told me that her class will be learning swimming every Tuesday starting on the 5th February. Does any P2 parents know abt this? Consent forms hv not been given yet but my gal has been informed by her form teacher. -
Capricon:
Oh yes, my gal already passed the form to me on Friday.Ah bee, you are welcome.

The swimming programme is called Swimsafer Stage 1, conducted over 8 sessions of 1.5hr per session on every Tuesday. Cost is ony $10 for the entire course.
My gal is extremely interested to go, she is a non-swimmer btw.
However I have my concerns as the timings are very rush.
Dismissal @ 1:15pm for light lunch and to change into swimwear.
Report @ foyer @ 1:35pm.
Depart from school @ 1:50pm
Arrival @ Anchorvale CC @ 2:00pm
Lesson from 2:15pm - 3:45pm
Dismissal @ 4:15 @ school foyer
20mins for light lunch + change into swimwear + school uniform over..... very rush right?...hmmmmm -
Thanks for sharing. I just asked my daughter and she forgot to give me the consent form. I am reading the form now. It does seem a bit rushing but I am more concerned abt the schedule as there is a month break in March. Would the kids remember what they learnt in February when they attend the class in April?
My gal is a non swimmer too, after reading the first page, I realized it is an introduction course. I think Iβll let my gal attend the course to gain some exposure. I am more worried abt the kids safety though. -
Yup
I thought that swimming lessons would only come when they are in P3
but it seems they made it earlier -
Hi! I am curious about the Higher chinese option for p4. I read the consent form and it mention about week 8 of Term 4. Does it mean they only would be able to start the Higher chinese in p5, based on p4 exam result?
Please advise. Thanks!
