no online registeration for DS's school.
Yes, was asked to sign up online.HyperKiasu:
your child already chose CCA?
can parents share whether adisable to have 2 CCAs when at P4?
It actually depends on whether your child has good time management. In DS's school, it needs to be approved by the teacher.
approved by teacher? neither for my DS's school...they just advised the kids be mindful to manage time if sign up more than 1 CCA. -

Is there any science reading list ? Is this a standard for GEP or only different school practise?DS already chosen n given the CCA. CLA, IRS n CEP will all start next week. He's already been given the Social Studies project instructions n datelines n also ERP n Science reading list. Looks like it's going to be full gear soon after 1 wk of games n grp work.
What about the rest? -
adafew:
Could be the teacher's own initiatives as he has given 2 stacks of notes on study strategies and mindmapping skills.

All GEP schools will have the same English reading list which is the ERP list. There is a long list of books, some of which are hard to find because they are out-of-print. Encourage DC to read as many as possible although some books are boring according to DSs.
There is no GEP-wide science list so what your child may have got is a list the particular teacher prepared. There are many science text books at Popular to choose from. But what I have learnt is that for Science, despite it being a very heavy content-based subject, it is not the fact that you can regurgitate the facts but rather whether your answer contains the correct key words. So by all means get your DC to read any of the popular science text books, but make sure the child learns key words usually through mind-mapping for each topic and then applying those key words in the answers. -
Just relax:

As for the science, learning the concepts and how to apply them in the questions is really to key to doing well. I will take note of your advice on KEY WORDS and remind DS about it. :thankyou:
