All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
-
Actually most schools would still screen. But they do not necessarily match the number of PVs to the no of applicants. From what I understand, some schools do that - e.g. they look at historical trends and then they project the number of vacancies that would be available and then they accept only that number of PV applicants.
Some schools screen but they do not take the extra step of trying to match the number of PVs to the usual number of vacancies available in Phase 2B. Hence - the overflow situation. -
How is it be PV of NYPS? Heard have to go through interview where like going job interview.
-
Yes, need to write in and then get shortlisted for interview. You will then be interviewed by a panel of about 3 or 4 pple.
Most schools conduct interview, e.g. RGPS, Gongshan, Catholic, Nanhua -
I think it is not easy to be even selected for the interview!

Like what some parents mentioned earlier, perhaps writing the letter like a job application letter helps.

Sorry to hear that. When did they send you the \"rejection letter\"? Last year? Did you have a chance to be interviewed? -
You need to write in usually between June and Sep of the previous year. E.g. if your child is going to P1 in 2011, you have to submit your PV letter by Sep this year. Some schools might still accept letters till the end of the year.

I wrote in earlier, but during their selection process for the interview, i have been rejected. Was not selected to be interview. Thanks, I am alright. No fate with the sch. Mummies who had wrote in, you would have been notify if u are selected.

Thanks for the guidance. Did you try NYPS as well?
I'll need to submit next year since boy is going to P1 in 2012.
