sleepy:
I think the good doctor may have over-committed himself. He already has so much on his plate... It's a wonder if he has any time left to run the TC.

Perhaps he has an army of runners?
Then he only needs to show face once a week at meet people session & show face at festive seasons dinner events. Manageable wa

Just wonder why he still want to go into politics? Already so busy & so rich.
You've missed out on one more thing - Powder! You know, the powderful powder? Aiya, don't be so skeptical lah, am sure he's also sincere...

        mummy so kiasu:

Next GE will be in 2.5 years time. That mean it will be a short term for the newly elected MP. Some people might choose to give the opposition party a chance by voting him or her in. Anyway, they can still vote the opposition party out in 2.5 years time if his or her performance is not up to expectation.
Yes, for those who are willing to give opposition a thought, there is no other better time than now for PE residents.

The brochures and flyers sent to the residents:

          http://i45.tinypic.com/mkfbr7.jpg\">

One is detailed in giving the background of the candidate, and one clearly bangs on the brand name, with no background mention of the candidate.

For those who bother to read, yes, it will be like what TKL has mentioned, that LLL's background is more suited for the post. There is a mention of her personal philosophy, her relevant work experience, her active participation in grassroot activities, her hands-on experience with managing a Town Council and executing 'Meet-the-people' sessions.

For Dr Koh, there's merely communication of vision statements. Perhaps not telling too much serves them better.. šŸ¦†

Personally, I've been pretty impressed with LTK's message at the back of the brochure, esp. the last para:

\"...while WP will scrutinise and press for accountability from the government, it is also my personal belief that the government should be given time to rectify the shortcomings or neglects pointed out to them. This will serve the public interest better than continuing to agitate and raise political tension to gain maximum political mileage for WP, because it takes time for changed policy to take effect on the ground.\"

                Very interesting and astute.

Consistent with the long term philosophies of the WP.

Hats off to Mr LTK for staying the course and the discipline to which he runs his ship. He is of ministerial calibre, I feel.
