Wa, why the PIC so arrogant!confuseddad:
Rang appeal school on 31st to check appeal status but PIC not in and was ask to leave telephone number. But PIC didn't call back.
Rang on 02nd n PIC pick up the call.
Was asked name of child n aggregate.
PIC say \" not so fast \" n \" if you don't get our call by Friday 04th means not successful \"
I take it as \" don't call me \" n \" don't call me anymore \"
May I know which school is that if you don't mind sharing with us.
Must be some popular school? -

If no news by the 1st week of school ... the likelyhood is that the appeal is not successful.confuseddad:

However, encourage your kid to work hard and if the result is good in sec 1, can try to appeal again for sec 2.
current school band 4 whereas appeal school is band 3.
Only 1 point diff
Only thing bus home from school takes longer for DD -

i only rang them once on 31st as instructed by them.To be fair ...... please spare a thought for the school and the PIC of appeal at the school. Have your guys wondered how many appeal cases that the school has to look at every year ..... tens/hundreds and how many phone calls that the people has to entertain ?
I was once in the same situation and I was anxious, I called the school a few times and if every parent called a few times, it will multipy ...... and of course the PIC will get irritated.
Another time on 02nd to get a reply
PIC is irritated by other parents maybe -
Heard from my son ex-classmate that one boy with 226 just got accepted by AHS. My son result was better then the boy. Why?
-
I believe ur DS friend entered the sch thru DSA.
-
Not necessary through DSA, this is at the appeal stage where the school will look at a number of factors before deciding which child to accept. As both child do not meet the CO point and there will be other appeal children as well, the school will review the merits of each child and decide which child can be accepted.

Hey gals
I am currently a sec 1 girl. I finished my PSLE but I did not do very well. I got 244+3 and I can't go NJC or Nanyang even though I score A* for my CL and distinction for my HCL.
I am very depressed and sad everyday as I badly want to get into Nanyang and NJC. A lot of my friends are there now. I would like to appeal at the end of the year but what am I supposed to do?
People who take the test before, it is very hard? What must I score for my year end results? And will I be able to appeal? I need your help and comment!! Your help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot

Hey there. I’m a student awaiting JC1 school posting. When I was sec 2, I was pushed to appeal to Nanyang by my parents. We paid about $100, and then I had to sit tests for English, Chinese, Science and Math. I wasn’t successful. One of my friends who also tried, wasn’t successful as well. She’s was the top girl in my school’s cohort for sec 2 and 3 (and for O levels she scored 9A1s and 1A2) but she was rejected by Nanyang at sec 2. Her father called up the school to ask how was it possible that his daughter got rejected, and was informed that there was only 1 vancancy, which went to a china scholar. If I had known there was only 1 vacancy I wouldn’t have even paid to sit the test. Btw, there were at least 50 people taking the entry tests. If you try for Nanyang, I would say chances are slim to impossible.

Does your DS have HMT? Some SAP schools do not take in HMT bonus points into consideration during appeal. They only take in T-score which is quite unfair. I have the same encounter for a SAP school too.

Well, it's up to the school. Although MOE posting is by merit, when it comes to appeal it's the school's decision.
