Hi Angmum, can you pls. share with me what happen on the registration day? My DS will be joining the sch & I juz want to know whether we've miss out much. The students get to meet their classmates & teachers liao?
Firstly, proceed to the performing arts threatre..….a warm welcome speech by the principal, Dr Foo, ..……congratulating our kids for doing well in psle and also brief us abt Dunman High (chinese name)...…..etc.etc.
Then followed by briefing of the other staff (could not remember who were they) and also a short talk abt the in-house music elective programme and malay special programme….(oh yes….must take malay for yr1 and yr 2).
Need to fill up 3 forms, went to the respective class, met the form teacher and submitted the forms. Then proceed to Q up to buy textbks, uniforms, t-shirts……super super long Q
There will be a parents’ briefing on 8 JAN fr 7 p.m to 9.30 p.mIntroduction to Dunman High Programme. (our kids will be in school on that night, attending the Yr 1 orientation programme, so we can leave together with our kids by 9.30 p.m or so)
Yr 1 Orientation programme is scheduled fr 4 Jan to 8 Jan.
Remember to bring $15 on the first day of sch (Orientation fee), which includes sch badges, T-shirt, tea break and a dinner on the last day of Orientation programme.
Oh ya…..need not to bring any textbks on Orientation wk, just water bottle, pencil case on the 1st day, come in school uniform.
On the 1 st day, get fr them a copy of the YR 1 Orientation programme which indicates the items that yr child needs to bring along for the rest of the Orientation wk.
That's all........... -
oh yes…i heard that the school fees is $23 (which includes misc fees).

and also forget to add…
on 1 st day, reporting time at 7.30 a.m, with school uniform and need to put on a tie on every Mondays. -
I have appeal on 23 Dec for my dd, but seems like chances very slim. She got only 254+2 but cop 258 and heard from the staff that she received 100 appeal forms, those t-score above 258 already got the place, just wonder my dd’s chances of appeal. Very sad!!

DD’s friend with 255+2 was notified today that her appeal is successful.

That is good news for your dd’s friend. Not sure after taking 255+2 will they still have space for 254+2??? Put our fingers cross and hope to hear from the school. Thanks for sharing.
