Seems like only my DD has no increase in homework. Nothing over last weekend. Claims all completed in school. Having a good time still.
Only HMT poses a challenge so far as DH struggles to help. Lol -
I guess loads of hw is inevitable at P5. The principal did warn that for P5, we parents will see a sharp drop in their grades ( compared to P4), and asked us not to scold or admonish them. He said its very common. So, I am mentally prepared to see DS1 fail his maths in P5 ( either CA1 or SA1 ), as I knew many of the P5s in his school failed maths last year. In fact, I’d realized that P5 work is pretty tough… and am glad DS1 is taking it seriously for now, although he is having long days at school + tuition etc.

Dd stays back 3 times a week now but it would increase to 4 times a week. School will be conducting compulsory supplementary class for all 4 subjects and this applies to the whole cohort. Understand that supplementary class is just continuation of lesson time. Seems like the normal lesson time is not enough to cover the syalbus.
take it as free tuition.....

Any parents with kids attending Maths Olympaid or E2K training? Can share your opinions/advice regarding the programs? My kid is offered both but can only choose one.
TIA -

DD1 attended both last year. Can't really see any tangible benefits so far. E2K involves performing experiments which she enjoys so I guess it helps to boost interest. On Math Olympiad, I must say I am more intrigue in figuring out the solution than her. She's taught the \"tricks\" of solving complex questions though I am unsure how much concept she grasped. Due to conflicting commitments, she will only attend E2k this year.Any parents with kids attending Maths Olympaid or E2K training? Can share your opinions/advice regarding the programs? My dd attended Math Olympiad last year. She said its boring, but admitted that she did learned some useful \"tricks\". She wants to give E2K a try, although she is not particularly interested in science :skeptical:
I'm not keen to let her attend simply becos along with other commitments, this will keep her back in school till 4pm for 4 out of 5 school days. I feel so sorry for our 11/12 year-olds  -
Not all schools have this E2k thing right?
So envious of you people!
My boy attended olympiad training or rather workshop last year and he finds it useful as we don’t have math tuition for him. If he can attend science related ones, we will surely let him go. He was shortlistdd for debate selection, but didn’t clear the first round selection. If he does,I will let him attend too. If the school has any activities that is beneficial to his learning academically or holistic ally and he is keen, I will let him go. His dad however feels otherwise and prefers him to concentrate on academic . Ironically, I was the one all study and no other school involvement last time and my husband was opposite - involved in a lot of school activities.
