Could your boy be too engrossed in his activity that resulted in him not going to the toilet in time?
Is he using potty or is already on the toilet bowl?
About working full time. How I wish I can afford to work part-time too but with the financial needs, really cannot afford that. But I think once the children attend Pri school, I will have to make a decision. -
Double E,
He is already toilet train and is using toilet already.
I am so scare he regresses. Cos he poo in the underwear, not stain… He did that in Dec when they are changing class. Past few weeks keep staining his underwear and yesterday poo in underwear again.
Must find those social stories. Maybe will help him remember. -
Double E, after changing to PT, I also had to start watching my pocket. Therapy, preschools, medical appointments, plus other things for my two elder gals eat up a lot of my finances, and nowadays I would be happy if I do not dig into my savings on a monthly basis.
PT work also comes with its downside, eg. having to eat humble pie, cos its a step down for me. I still hope that one day I can go back full time, cos my job does define me as a person in some ways, but PT has to be the way for now.
I guess we all have our unique challenges, one way or another. Things are not perfect, but we have to make do.

I read somewhere that under stress, certain traits that the ASD individual has overcome previously may resurface.
Maybe your child is under some stress? eg. change schedules, change routines etc? -

My boy has similar problem. We later found out there are 2 issues. Firstly, He is afraid of going into a busy toilet, secondly, he dare not inform his teacher when he needs to go, so he tried to hold himself until he couldn't control anymore.. He had a few accidents in class. For first issue, we just keep encourage and reassure him that it is ok to go into a busy toilet.. when he finally did, we cheered for him and praise him for good job. Same thing in school, the teacher kept encouraging him to speak out. His AED also help to prepare a laminated note \"Can I go to toilet?\" to help him... -

I think he has the 2nd issue. He will always hold back, wait for teacher to notice him that he wants to go toilet, then he will go.
I already told him \"cannot wait for teacher to call you, u must go toilet by yourself quickly\". I am working with the teacher on this. Hope it will see some improvement. -
My son know how to pee n poo at toilet only whn we bring him to.
At childcare he did not use diaper due to frequent toilets break. So far I did not hear him requesting to go toilet by himself , how to guide ?
At home I dare not leave him without diapers I can’t afford the time to keep cleaning u the mess… It’s real mess … Any solution ? -
helplessmum3:
Just take away the diaper and bring him to the toilet frequently. In toilet training, we cannot avoid mess or be lazy. If not, they can remain untrained for a long long time. Since the childcare is already helping you, it's a lot easier for you. Just ask the teachers how they do it and you follow. My son know how to pee n poo at toilet only whn we bring him to.
