Heard from my DS he has a classmate that did not purchase the Mac. Not sure how is the school going to help him since it is required individually as part of the syllabus. -
Out of curiosity, can any parents please share with me if your DS in Sec One are tested on English spelling or Chinese 听写yet?
I asked because my DS told me he has not been given any yet in his class.
However, my niece and nephew from other secondary schools in Sec One standard too are already tested on 听写and already have CA on a weekly basis. -
both english and chinese spelling not yet but my ds mentioned that the words for chinese spelling have already given and is highlighted in their chinese textbk. My ds will be having his 1st class test on gerography this Fri.

Yes, chinese spelling from the bold words in the textbook. English spelling, so far no indication there is. For English, I guess it will be different from primary ones, spelling in the form of note-taking / dictation. Geography test tomorrow, 4units. Some writeup/assingm needed for Literature to handup next Monday, may hv marks for that.

I asked because my DS seems to be very free since school started on 2nd Jan till today. He does not have any homework to do cos he said he finished them in school.
No spelling and no 听写to learn. No upcoming tests to study.
Anyone shares the same experience too? -

Hmm… the school seems to be a school of fun.
(Which isn’t a bad thing because I believe they should have a well-rounded schooling as they grow into young men)
So far, there are science worksheets, chinese writing, literature group discussion/review, etc.
The kid is so busy… i wonder if he has time to get down to studying all the subjects. -
