Any instrument that creates music and can be controlled by a musician may be called as a musical instrument. The word Piano is basically derived from the Italian word ‘gravicembalo col piano e forte’ pianoforte in short, which refers to the ability of the piano to construct notes at different volumes, depending on the keys pressed. A keyboard piano is a modern musical instrument that serves this purpose. The piano today is used in western music, western classical, jazz, film, and even for video games. The other forms of keyboard instruments are the Organ, the Clavichord, and the Harpsichord, that emerged during the 14th century. All the keyboard instruments were further developed in the 20th century and the Ondes Martenot came into existence. This Keyboard Piano creates sounds with steel strings and felt hammers. The keys/levers are arranged adjacent to each other. Almost all modern pianos have about 88 keys, however many older pianos had only 85 keys. The modern piano has essentially two fundamental configurations - the Grand piano, and the Upright piano. There have been quite a few innovations in the piano. A digital piano which has been around since 1980’s makes use of the digital sampling technology. The recent development is the Prepared Piano, which is merely a standard grand piano having objects fixed inside to alter the sounds before a performance. A piano keyboard must be tuned once at least every four to six months. However, during the first year of a new piano one must get it tuned at least four to five times. A concert performer will need to tune the keyboard before the recital.

I feel Personally piano is better.
