There is nothing wrong with MRT and bus fares going up if assistance is given to needy families to offset the increase for these people (and also senior citizens), and provided that the increase goes to improving the pay of drivers and increased frequency.
I was going to say also improved reliability but it appears that the present reliability problems may possibly be due to mismanagement... :siam: -

Which part of Katong? Mountbatten SMC, Marine Parade GRC or Joo Chiat SMC?

Anybody can roughly calculate?

hubby and i were discussing, think it's interesting that Wp appeals to such a wide segment. new faces include lawyers, Nus sociology prof Dan goh, and the rally audience includes such folk as well as the common man on the street. pretty admirable.
Yes, their ability to attract new talents is quite admirable.
Personally, they used to portray WP supporters as those less educated, middle age, chinese educated, etc... but if you attend the rally, you will observed that this is not true. There are alot of young people, professionals, etc... these days. -

Another that LTK mentioned last night (which dh has always been saying to me) is also those gas company. With privatisation, the govt will no longer have control if the private sector wants to increase the charges, etc... maybe these are some of the critical areas that should not be privatise in the first place ? -

JC SMC could also be absorbed into one of the neighbouring GRCs. So its too premature to be forecasting now. Maybe you get stared because the WP umbrella is unique in some ways?
