That's what hubby says - never ever! So tk goodness, very soon after we first went to Zion Road, the place shut down for a renovation and then this other hawker shows up.

      Really, about Bedok??

I just went to Bedok. The Hawker Centre - is it called Pasar, Blk 216 at Bedok central? I dun think so actually 😢 , cos rereading Zack's and Way2GO's post now, the cheng tng stall didn't just sell cheng tng alone. Anyway, I had my doubts so I didn't try the HM there. Instead, they have a fabulous mee pok place called Joo chiat fish ball noodles. Yep, it's that old fashioned taste I grew up with back at Joo chiat! The sort where the chilli is not not sweet and is spicy without resorting to me adding sliced chili padi.

Good enough compensation, but I'm still on the hunt ...

              Hi Blobbi,

I think Zack and WaytoGO are talking about Bedok Food Centre at Upper East Coast Road....

              http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel/travel/travel_id_29991/travel_site_1/

If I din remember wrongly, the cheng tng stall's name is \"ye lai xiang\".

This thread is an inspiration. We just went to Kim's at Jalan Eunos cos hubby was worried about the parking at the other East Coast recommendations. Aiming to try out the rest systematically  .

Anyway, VERY GOOD! I thought it was a tad salty but for the rest of the family, ah, \"hood\" is the right verb to describe their actions. šŸ˜„

 indeed. btw, if you're worried abt parking, can go for the one at joo chiat..there's a big public carpark right at tembeling rd across from kims.

I just watched Makansutra the other day and they recommended the Hokkien Mee at Geylang Lor 27.

                        Has anyone tried it b4?
