I hope the new sci HOD will be someone experienced.

I wish for someone who is capable of imparting knowledge n in tune with teaching methods for the new generation as well as able to set concise questions.

The new HOD is Mr. Tan Choon Shing. Do you know anything about him?

I hope the new sci HOD will be someone experienced...I got a quiry anyone got experience with the sch buddy reading programme? My kid got a letter to be a tutor but it's twice per week n we got enrichment lessons for most days...is it just reading to 1 kid throughout the whole school term? Is it feasible timing ? TIA

Congrats! To be asked to tutor meant your ds is doing very well. From what I understand, this is usually done during recess. Tutor & tutee will adjourn to some corner of the sch during recess for this sharing.

The other thing hor (pls see underlined), certain things cannot share so openly one ... otherwise you'll make other parents bery stressed. :rotflmao: πŸ˜†

              FQW,

paiseh....we let the kids go for Berries ( cos chinese is real bad)...but eh, the other lessons r more for music/art,so shd not stress other parents.... πŸ˜“
But aiyoh, my ds is only P2 ( definitely not tutor material), & he told me the teacher dish out letters to 6 more students. So there shd be at least 7 x 10 such tutors in just P2. ..i guessing the sch do that for other upper levels too...? Not sure if timing we can cope & bring him to sch eariler cos letter quote to start from 12-1 pm on Tues & Fri.

Called up earlier but they are in the midst of devotion session; have to call back later... hopefully there's a glimmer of HOPE for my DD. :xedfingers:

Heard from another friend, he is a nice teacher, teaches the how-to in answering open ended questions.

                  :xedfingers:

This friend had a good impression of last year Science teacher from year 2011, but the teacher did not meet her expectations in 2012.

Do you know the difference between \"a fair experiment\" vs \"a reliable experiment\"? This is reference to one of the qns in P5 SA2 last year.

He is in charge of the E2K science enrichment program. Seems like PH is offered this program for the first time this year. It is only offered to selected schools and is a collaboration with the MOE GEP branch. You can read more about the E2K by doing a search in this forum for \"E2K\". It has been discussed by other parents from other schools at length.

I will ask my son about it. πŸ˜‚ I have also put the SC P5 SA2 out of my mind already. πŸ˜‚
