tragic accident at Tampinese. Two brothers cycling home from school were killed by a big heavy vehicle. The photos are shocking. I am not sure if this could have saved them - maybe the younger one - but parents, please MAKE your kids wear helmets if they are cycling along or across roads.

          Thoughts with the family.
Sorry, I'm not sure if the helmets would be of any help in this situation. 🤷

That aside, there are a lot of young riders with very poor road discipline around the area with my parents live. They would race across behind my car even though I am doing a reverse park. :siao:

So tragic. When something like this happens, so many lives are wrecked.

            RIP.

Very sad indeed. Lost of words… I don’t know how the family will live after this.

As a driver, I find that SG roads are too busy and dangerous for cyclist, not to mention young children. I seriously don’t think cycling helmets are a match for the big truck though. Don’t let children cycle on the road w/o adult supervision. And if it’s a busy road, I’ll say forget it, just walk!

Let’s pray for the innocent children and the bereaved parents…hope heaven is a much happier place without all these dangers…i sincerely hope someone would start a petition to the govt or relevant authorities to clamp down on irresponsible motorists…very often when i am on the road…you can see those truck drivers (cement mixers, rubbish trucks, tippers etc) driving recklessly on the road as if they got a death wish…what happen to those speed limit devices supposedly installed on their vehicles? What are the TPs and LTA enforcers??? Wake up before more tragedies happen!!

Just saw one near accident this morning, a cement mixer truck (again!) side-swipe a Honda Odyssey traveling on it’s left while making a right turn. Even a stout Honda Odyssey shook like a falling leaf on the impact. Luckily no injury.

And the worst part was, the truck driver didn’t even aware of it, sped off! MAD!

i saw in a post from a website that someone said not to buy bicycles for children when they are not matured enough to be left alone outside and i agree. if they are unable to take care of themselves, wearing helmet is of no use.
