GEP 2012 - Class Starting P4 in 2013

How is the workload? Everything ay okay? Any problems with homework can ask me.
-
Strange.. It seems that the 9 GE centres are doing different things. I checked with my friends and their kids' (from different centres) work are all somewhat different, except for the major projects. I didn't expect this as they told us the kids will be doing the same things, centralised from the GE Branch. :?

-
Feeling the same too… maybe those different learning are what differentiate the 9 centres, in terms of stress level as well as expectation.
-
Yes, it’s about the same, depends on how the school gives the stuff.
-
Oh, have any of you realised that your children have to do a IRS project for p5? You will find ur child going for this IRS exhibition at end of year… Depends on how good is the project… You might be selected for next year.

My DD has homework everyday since the first week of orientation. Mainly Maths, HCL and English which can be time consuming cos have to find out etymology of words so always googling… Unsure how much details to include.
How do we know which daily work is graded?
Rainowyabby, what is a portfolio and why is SS family tree a "first entry"?
Many thanks. -

Daily work is filing, and literally all worksheets. A portfolio (p4-p6)is virtually a collection a self selected or self created stuff, and others:
Portfolio=artefact(self selected/created), commentary, reflection.
It is a first entry as they are just starting! Mainstream doesn't have these things. -

Aha, do kids need to do book review from the ERP list? My DS completed reading a few books from the ERP list but otherwise just reading based on his own schedule...
Oh oh for our school, it's 3 per term. -

3 per term? That's a lot! That means they have to read at least twelve erp books!adafew:

May I ask which one did you opt for ? IRS, IVP or FPS ? Can share what you intend to do for your ISO ? Have you started on anything ? TIA.
