For P3 parents who are interested to get the MCCA Malay textbook, the title is \"Bahasa Melayu Pertuturan\" for beginners.

Thanks bgmum. Btw, looks like moxie freq has shortened to once a week now.

Yes, and it's getting tougher. The 2nd moxie has 4 sentences this time round and the first sentence is already quite a challenge :scared: My son says next week's spelling/dictation and tingxie/moxie will be brought forward due to CNY celebration next Fri - spelling/dictation next Tue and tingxie/moxie next Thurs.

My ds got selected for TTLT Maths....any experienced parents to share what does the program covers? Do the kids in TTLT get sent to participate in Maths Olympia program? Useful as DSA (of course provided that the kid does well)?

BTW my ds is reluctant to join as it clashes with his CCA which he would very much like to continue.

Thanks in advance for your advice.
TTLT Math covers getting to know the ancient numbering systems, pascal's triangle etc. The more interesting topic is in the second half of the year which is on financial literacy which is useful to educate the kids on money.

I would recommend go for TTLT, as the kid can always join CCA next time.

Math Olympiad training is open to anyone who is interested to take part.

          Seat belts on school buses

          ***********************

There was an accident along Dunearn Road this afternoon - a trailer and a mini bus.

The mini bus has its sliding door ripped out and in tattered condition. Saw many pieces of A4 size paper scattered around the road. Not sure if the mini bus was ferrying any school children. Can be sure it is not PH school bus.

The driver seat and the passengers seats on the right side of the mini bus are in good condition. Did not hear ambulance screaming down.

If your child takes the sch bus, please remind them to belt up.

The tingxie/moxie turns out to be much more challenging than dictation for ds. Some hanzi I can't even pronounce and must ask ds to read to me first. So much for daddy's pride. P3 is the time I revealed to ds i dont know everything. Luckily I don't have much of an ego to begin with. 😂

The 默写 at P3 is indeed challenging for parents. Although my son didnt have to learn all the sentences (pick any 3)…it was still not easy from just 听写 to having both 听写 AND 默写. What I did was to copy and paste the entire thing using Word…then added in hanyu pinyin to help him memorize.

Daughter has to learn 默写 too…sentences are part of a compo…slightly easier than PH standard.

Thanks for the tip Janet. Every parenting style is different. For me, P3 is the time ds learns to take ownership of his studies (I consider lenient oredi, some of my friends let go as early as P1).

I get him the e-dictionary and he has to help himself. I only step in when he still doesn't understand despite trying. So far so good.

                    FQW,

I neglected my daughter for 2 solid years…with 默写 thrown in this year, I need to do something…start her off in the beginning and when she is on track, slowly let go. Same thing for my son.
