i would say take h2 geog, study the subject you are interested in then you will be likely to score better in it since you have interest in it.

However, you should note that taking h2 biology tgt with h2 chem would offer you more choices in uni!
what course do you plan to take in uni?

Hey! I need some URGENT advice on subject combinations as I have certain concerns about which contrasting subject I should take. These are my O level results:

        Eng A2
        E Maths A1
        A Maths A1
        Phy A2
        Chem A2
        Comb. Humans A1
        Geog A2
        MT A2

I want to take H2 Phy, Chem and Maths but I am not sure if I should stick to Geog in A level or try taking Economics. I heard that PCME is extremely popular but I am afraid that i would not be able to ‘catch up’ if I take Econs. O level and A level will be different so I am not sure if taking Geog is the right choice. I do not know what I want to be in the future but I am relatively stronger in my Maths and may consider Accountancy. Help please?

Take econs… It’s new to everyone what is there to catch up on? Those who do econs at Os have very little headstart, and it’s not popular subject among O level students.

Hi all. I would like to seek some advice regarding on the subject combination. would H2 biology or H2 geography be a better choice? The other subjects chosen are Chem, Math and Econs.

I have more interest in geog, but i understand biology provides more choices.
Olevels scores are A1 : Bio, Emath, Amath, Geog, Combined Humanities ( SS + Hist ) , English , Mother tongue
            A2: Chem

            Thanks!
I did H2 Geog and really enjoyed it. It's the most \"sciency\" subject of all the Arts IMO.

I agree with HotnColdx - have a look at the course requirements for the unis and see whether you are interested in a course that asks for Biology. If you THINK there is a chance that you might want to apply for such a course in the future, I would suggest sticking with Bio to keep your options open.

In my case, I knew I didn't want to do any science-related subjects in Uni (Engineering, Sciences, Medicine, Dentistry), so I switched out from pure science at Sec 4 to pure Arts in JC. If you aren't certain though, I'd advocate playing safe.

I'm planning to take an arts hybrid course 3H2 + 1H1.
              H2: Geog, Econs, Maths.
              H1: Chem.
I will like to ask if this combi is advisable and useful..

and planning to aim for arts and social sci in university.
Please advice, thanks a lot !
Looks fine to me for Arts and Social Science courses!

I got accepted into Raffles and I’m in the Science stream.

I’m in a dilemma between taking H2 bio and H2 phys as well as H2 eng lit and H2 econs. I’m taking H2 chem and H2 math for the other two subjects. I do have more interest in bio then in phys but would the heavy content for bio be one to cause regret? The thing is, unlike most of my peers, I really have no idea what I want to do in life(it really irritates the hell out of me sometimes) and hence, I don’t really have anything to base my decisions on. Sigh. Therefore,I’d really like some advice over whether to choose phys or bio…and the same goes for econs and lit.
I was in the triple science stream in secondary school and I didn’t take lit as an o’lvl subject.
Oh and would anyone recommend one to take up the English Language and Linguistic Scholarship and KI? English has always been my strongest subject,if that helps.
I’d really really appreciate any help given! ((:

PCME gives you the most opportunities in uni.

                      Hi, I’m a JC1 student in ACJC (yes, I’m a newbie) who hasn’t chosen my subject combination…

As in the title, I’m debating between English Language and Linguistics (ELL) and English Literature. I’ve heard that ACJC is very strong in Arts/Language, and I’m also interested to join the ELEP (and hopefully get the ELES hehheh). But the thing is, I’m not sure if I’d like it, and English Lit seems equally interesting too (though I don’t have any background in Lit).

I’m also debating between Biology, Maths, and Physics. I think I’m certain that I’ll be taking Chemistry since it does seem to be a pre-requisite for many Uni courses. I’m definitely more interested in Biology (I got an A2 in O’s) and I find Maths and Physics kinda dry and uninteresting (I’ve a B3 in A Maths and Physics). But then again, Maths and Physics also do seem to be rather important in Uni…

Is there anyone who can contribute some info as to the subjects or as to ACJC itself? And is it recommended to take 4H2 or 3H2 and 1H1? 😮

                      Thank you for your help!

thanks guys! i was either thinking of doing pharmacy/science or business in university. Well i heard the current prerequisite for pharmacy has been reduced to chem and bio/math/phy. so im still unsure!
