:rotflmao:Aiyoh, the form has that stated lah. I'm hoping DS2 can 'graduate' to the next level next year so I only need to buy 2 levels.
I did however, have to explain at length why Ds1 will be the one getting all 3 magazines each month vs each kid getting what they want - the official explanation is for DS1 to be Ds2's mule.
In other cases, I had to resort to communism at times (ie govt owns everything but kids can borrow) when they refused to share. Sigh...the lengths I go to. But hey, kids learn about different types of governments in a jiffy.
Right now it's Father's rules
dd1 not as good a reader as your ds mah

That's nice.
Wondering if the reps from SA and and YSR are giving each other dirty looks given all that transpired in the last few months. -

I was not allowed into the school, so cannot report on the reps' interaction heehee. -
Not sure how many parents with kids in Hong Wen read the this thread.
This is a post to appeal for cooperation.
This afternoon before I make my way to pick up my dd1, I looked up at the sky and it was abt to rain, so I prepared 3 umbrellas becos my younger kids were tagging along today.
Today I think as adults we set a bad example to the kids.
It was raining rather heavily when it was time to the kids to come out of school. Many of the parents jam near the entrance resulting in kids cannot come out or the progress was very slow.
In case you are wondering if I’m a keyboard warrior, I can assured you I’m not.
I shouted for the adults, I use adults becos there were a combination of parents, grandparents and helpers on the scene, to move aside for the kids to come out, in English and Chinese. Either no one heard me or they can’t be bothered.
I shouted at the security guard to move the kids back and let the parents in, like the practice before the shelter was built, she couldn’t hear me. She was too worried about kids falling.
This afternoon I had my 2 younger kids with me so I was not able to organise the crowd or try to get into the school and organise the kids into a queue for the parents to come in. 2 elderly gentlemen tried to help but no one was cooperating.
I called the school to send help to manage the release of the kids at Gate 5. I don’t know what happened next becos my dd1 managed to come out not long after I made the call.
I’m not very traditional so I’m ok if my kids get a bit wet when it’s raining. I also don’t mind if I got wet. The 4 of us were wet today. I’m not angry abt getting wet. I cannot understand why the adults cannot work together to get all our kids out smoothly.
The kids are on higher ground so they are able to see the adults clearly. I know they can even see across the road. There’s no need to jam at the gate entrance/exit.
I saw a child crying in the school.
I think we set a bad example today.
My dd1 managed to squeeze out and she apologise for being late and causing me to wait in the rain for so long. I told her it was not her fault.
Parents, if you are not the one picking up your child, pls advise the caregiver that it’s ok to spread out.
I’m going to write in to the school requesting for the old practise of letting the parents into the school when it’s raining.
I think the building of the shelter might not be such a good move after all.
All the students is someone’s daughter or son. Pls help each other to let them go home safely. -
Thanks sahm tan. My kids were fortunate not to have to use gate 5 today and thus escaped the mayhem. Hope the caregivers and school can work better esp when weather is bad like today.
-
It’s also for the adult’s safety to spread out. Often I have seen some adults spilling to the edge of the road with so many standing under the shelter. Although, it’s a side stretch of a road, vehicles still use the road.
Sometimes I don’t use the zebra crossing becos the shelter on the other side of the zebra crossing is also crowded. So even if I can use the zebra crossing on one side, I will have difficulty getting through the other side. The situation is worsen with the barricades set up becos of the power thingy construction.
If the situation is not improved, I will switch to Gate 1. -
Heard from my mum that they allowed caregivers to wait at canteen yesterday (from gate 5). Things were much improved although she does fear that my kids won't know where to find her in the canteen. will continue to monitor the situation.
A problem is that caregivers tend to stand right in front of the gate, thereby creating a squeeze. I suggested to hubby that perhaps they need to draw a yellow box (like the ones on road to prevent cars from stopping), but he told me perhaps pp will start thinking it's a smoking corner. :stupid: :slapshead: -
Good to read that the school acted. I was not there so not aware of the change.
Hmmmm..... Yellow box, maybe spray the words no standing and no smoking within the box?
