i cried again when i read this, it is so painful to think abt what had happened last Monday.
It is particularly tragic because she and her family were just doing exactly what most of us do everyday. But I'm particularly glad that the healing has started for her and her husband. I don't think anyone can recover from something like this, but we should be happy with whatever little lessening of the pain we can help the family accomplish.

I seriously think TRAFFIC POLICE need be MORE visible on the roads.

Just last night, there was this NTUC delivery truck which sped past a cyclist outside Nan Hua Primary  Fine, if nothing happens...

Cyclists and motorcylists have to remember one thing...they are 人抱铁...meaning they are not protected on the roads..so they have to be extra alert.
Singapore though is a little red dot, we cant expect to see traffic enforcers at all places.

We could do our part. Send email to [email protected]

It's painful to be left behind.....
Waiting for someone who should BUT never returns.....
That fatal day will never forget in one lifetime, regardless of how many years it has passed........

Saw Red Light Cameras being installed at an accident-proned junction yesterday.

Amazing how many people still take for granted - also saw motorcyclist passing at red light before it turned green, and women and children standing on the road at traffic junctions instead of on the pavement.. :faint: These people never read news and self-reflect ah...

Everyday, I witness many pp chosing to walk through the carpark in front of my flat, in front of parking lots, instead of using the pavements on both sides. These include families with young children, parents with strollers, teens/adults on hp, sometimes even occupying half the driveway. It’s quite a busy parking lot with vehicles moving in & out constantly throughout the day.

It just takes a driver to be careless for an accident to happen.

Pedestrians need a lesson on road safety. Standing at the traffic junction is so dangerous...if a driver makes a u-turn and loses control of steering wheel, the pedestrian suffers. One can never be presumptuous that nothing will go wrong :slapshead: Anything can happen on the road.

Lesson as in 教训? Or 上课?

Guess it's the parents' duty to coach their kiddos about road safety, if you mean lesson as 上课....

There is a Road Safety Park. Some schools participate in the activities to teach road safety to school children.

If the adults are not taught, then how to teach their own children?

Especially now many foreigners are living in Sg, I find these foreigners treat the road as their private estates.

Traffic police and mediacorp can make a short documentary to teach people how to cross the road…road safety tips, the dos and the don’ts.

Also teach youngsters not to walk on the road with ear plugs…loud music blasting into their ears. Cross the road safety…at zebra crossings…do not assume right of way every time and neglect own safety.
