If you can’t get what you want, try to make the best of what you have? Having too many options is not always a good thing. Although you got a B3, it was for Combined Physics and Chem. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea for you to opt for the Science stream where you’ll have to take those subjects at H2 level.

I feel that last year’s combined science students were somewhat disadvantaged, because I heard from a number of students that the papers and practicals were very challenging, especially for Physics. But the die has been cast, so what can you do, right? If you’re really not interested in the arts stream at all, you should seriously consider switching to poly?

Friends who mock at you aren’t your friends. Move on and make new friends who will encourage and support you. Be resilient, persevere, stay focused and tell yourself that you can perform much better than them during your A-Levels next year. If you can’t get into the Science stream, do your personal best in the Arts stream. Just to share, I was a triple Science student who chose to go to the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in NUS to major in Arts/Social Science subjects that I had never taken before. If I can do it, I am sure you can.

Yonghao123, if you believe this phrase "Things happen for a purpose." Ignore the negative remarks, go for the JC. Go with your heart and you will decide the path. No regrets with whatever outcome. It is a precious chance that many may not be that blessed to get!

I passed this phrase to my DS who is now in sec1. This phrase comes out automatically from him when things don’t happen as what he originally hope for. He is having more positive attitude and realised that there is more surprising and better outcome in store for him at the end of each path.

          All the best to you!
